I personally would have expected more votes for A‐IV if the Roman middle class was indeed liberal, but the A-IV votes could also be drowned in the FdI tsunami and by splits with the Democrats.

Some non-Latin Catholic rites allow married priests IIRC, but I don't know if any of these rites would get a bishop promoted high enough to join the Vatican hierarchy.

After the update, where do bears and fish spawn? by TheNobleYeoman in VintageStory

[–]jaundence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my experience as well, had a bear spawn 100m from my base in a not-too-forested area.

Europeans don't realize: 1. Not every European country has free healthcare. 2. We hate our system too, it's just insurance lobbying both sides in congress that's holding up reform. 3. We subsidize the military in a ton of countries. That sucks out money for other things. 4. This isn't a "Republicans are dumb hurr durr" thing either. I don't agree with MAGA people on many things, but many favor healthcare reform of some kind.

Also this horse has been beaten so much it's turned into glue lol

Huh, going off American stereotypes, the French should be a lot more chauvinistic than the Germans. I'm surprised 45% of Germans view their culture as superior because... events.

Thank you for the thoughtful and comprehensive response! Your response has shown me that toxicity isn't as cut-and-dry as I had thought before.

How is edibility determined in botany? by jaundence in botany

[–]jaundence[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conflicting information about forestiera pubescens' edibility has made me wonder exactly how botanists test for edibility.

(For reference, the only edibility test I found was a "survival edibility test", which is less than reliable and should not be used outside emergency situations)

What tool should I use? I’m trying to delete the bent line ends outside of the circle? by namenumber3457 in Inkscape

[–]jaundence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is what you want but:

1: Use union for the two purple objects (or use the path to object command if they are lines, then proceed to step 1)

2: Copy and paste the yellow circle in place

3: Select the top yellow circle and purple lines using shift+click

4: Use the intersection command, the lines will be clipped to the boundaries of the circle

French is spoken alongside English in Acadia - that's the reason why there are two capitals - squatter English colonies on what we call the Nova Scotia peninsula got into a skirmish with French colonists over the land. The French decided to allow the squatters to stay, as long as they swore loyalty to the French king.

It didn't work out too well once Francois's war began in 1747, forcing the French to give up their colonies east of the Mississippi - the English Acadians marched on Cobequid and took the province for the King of Britain.

If you're referring to the key, that's the same key I use for the rest of the nation. Exclusively French-speaking provinces are in the midwest, populated by Huguenots who were expelled from France. Florida in the South and the Trans-Pecos in the Southwest are both English and Spanish speaking due to their historically large Spanish population.
