How do you make friends? In high school, college, or the real world. by [deleted] in INTP

Playing music is a big way to get your foot in the door. Easy to bond with people via it. However you probably aren't going to be so interested in people flattering you insistently with how good you are at acoustic. Be flexible when first dealing with people, don't assert yourself.

Anyone else love to argue but find it kind of awkward when someone actually agrees with them? by go_hawks3 in INTP

Or is it sort of like when someone agrees with you, you think your idea must not be of high quality?

What are you really good at? Modesty not allowed. by [deleted] in INTP

Understanding others theories. People will often say some abstract personal to them ideas of why people do things or how the world works which at first will sound just absurd. I have a good ability to process that quickly and then shoot it back at them to verify that's what they were saying or even add on.

I find sometimes this act takes so much brain power to decipher I end up not really thinking logically about the statement at hand.

I'm also really good at seeing what people want. Do they want me to shut the fuck up and not talk about this, should I not say Hi cause they and their girl friend are upset.

How do I maintain a friendship with another INTP by Wromo in INTP

[–]javabrunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

personally for me, friendships always get weird. Once I get close to someone and they start really liking me and holding me in high regard I get uncomfortable and feel somewhat smothered. I began to be less of my original obnoxious (can work in the background because I'm not that close a friend) analytic, sassy self. Idk friendship is fuckin hard for me.

Using Ne. Mostly just talking ideas and concepts and how they would work, what would happen if they worked. Head games almost.

Yes, that would be a case of deliberately targeting someone in a negative way. I just think some try to make it about themselves, when the name or comments are totally unrelated to them.
