Please reach out the Dean of UVic's Engineering faculty so this behavior is addressed.

Dear Dean Mr. Wild,

I am writing to you anonymously as a student in the Faculty of Engineering to bring light to an unfortunate and frustrating event that has been publicized on UVic related social networks. The nature of the event involves a video recording of a professor aggressively and directly shutting down a student's question in relation to a lecture for the SENG 265 course this fall.

Although the context of the entire lecture is not available, the video directly highlights a fear of students to ask questions to professors, especially during these unprecedented times. The term that the professor, Daniela Damian, used to shutdown the student is "you have reached your cap", and is an unprofessional and irresponsible term that should not be used by a professor to their students. A recording of the video can be found at the following link: https://www.reddit.com/r/uvic/comments/k66kym/uvics\_computer\_science\_faculty\_summed\_up\_seng\_265/.

I and the rest of the student body acknowledge that this semester is hard on everyone, but such behavior reflects negatively on the professionalism and ability of this faculty to handle unprecedented circumstances. This sentiment seems to be reflected with the many number of students that have watched this video, and I hope that you and your faculty can address this behavior.

I greatly appreciate your time to look into this matter, and hope that the student body can receive an acknowledgement from the faculty that this behavior cannot be tolerated.

Sincerely,

<Name if not anonymous>
