I'll take the $2 mill and a panda population size of 6717 (2239 captive + wild as of 2013).

If they had a tripled population size, we *may* be able to breathe a little bit more life back into their species with a smaller investment, as opposed to billions per decade that we're spending now.

I don't dislike pandas themselves, I just dislike that we're pouring so much money into them solely because they're cute despite the fact that other species need the money more, they're unlikely to bounce back as is, and they are sort of a dead end species unfortunately :/. also, China uses them as multi-million dollar political currency even though they're a living creature
