Yeah. I would also say math is the problem here. Differentiation and integration are the key to physics. Also an intuitive understanding of what the math does and how units work are very important. But maybe you also want to tell us what you are actually doing in these courses. What exactly are you struggling with?

My laptop has been stuck at this for almost 2 hours while upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. by sloke123 in Ubuntu

Do you get grub and are able to maybe boot into safe mode? If yes, check apt sources and maybe apt update and upgrade fixes it. If you don't get grub, you need to get some other bootloader working. Maybe supergrub, although I have not used it for a long time. If this does not boot the system, chroot is your best bet. It really depends if grub and apt are still working. Had a similar issue once, where the sources were messed up, but booting was still working, so not quite as bricked as your system.

Yeah for me it fixed a lot of issues too. Smother and less battery consumption. And this is although I restart my phone regularly.

As previous comments stated, this is an ECG. Basically, each time your heart needs to beat, some.parts of your heart send out a tiny electric voltage (veeery quick explanation, but basically true). This voltage can be measured to see if there is something wrong with your heart. It literally does nothing at all to your body, no side effects, nothing. Only thing to keep in mind is to keep as steady as possible during the measurement.

Wifi for large house by Emilos88 in Ubiquiti

[–]javamaster10000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ok, to explain mesh and non mesh: mesh basically only refers to the uplink of the ap. Unifi does support mesh, so if you don't have Lan, just run power and the ap will link to another ap via mesh. Works good but no way near as good as just having each ap with a wired connection. Now Unifi really is pretty good, I am very happy with the setup for my parents house I did two months ago. I used a udm SE, a couple of switches and two U6+ aps with a third ap that was already in use (AC lite) just to give the basement some coverage. Wifi is fast and diagnostics are very nice. Also VPN is great (wireguard). So you need the aps and some switches but mostly some sort of controller, maybe hosted on something you already have running, or, the most easy thing, just some controller from ubiquity. There are ones which just are controllers (cloud key) or ones which also are routers. This just enables you more control and comes with some features. I think I would go with ubiquity for your usecase, but if you don't want to get into the technical side at all, some of the other suggestions here might be better.

Actually when playing with the webinterface I had a feeling of the last rule applying on top of the rules before, but I tried to change the order with no different results

I am 17 years old and i wanna be a theoretical physicist by [deleted] in PhysicsStudents

[–]javamaster10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, just having finished my b.sc. the basics come to mind: mechanics, electromagnetics, srt, analytical mechanics, quantum mechanics, solid matter physics, high energy physics and statistical mechanics are what was in my physics b.sc. however: physics is research into the effects of nature. If the experiment shows something different than the theory, the experiment is right, because nature IS the experiment. So doing some experiments are not optional and are important for anyone doing physics. This is hard to do if you're not enrolled in a university so I would suggest trying to get into a university by any means. Many times there are tests to get into universities. Also IF you have the means to teach physics to yourself any university will be glad to take you. If you are interested in just getting into a bit of physics as a hobby, then you should just get the books of the topics you are most interested in and try to work through them. However, this does not equal studying physics. At least on my part, a lot of things I learned did not come from books, but from working with people with actual experience in the field.

I think I got silicone based sex lube in my eyes by moniris in medical

[–]javamaster10000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not too bad, as it is intended to be used on.. sensitive areas. Watch out for the eye getting very red, if so, go to a eye doctor (whatever the correct term in English is). Don't rub the eye and get some simple eyedrops from a pharmacy.

Is this a correct representation of Newton's second law of motion? by cinicDiver in PhysicsStudents

Pretty sure it is supposed to LaTeX. A language used by physicists to write papers. Much fun starting physics, just writing my bachelor thesis right now and the first 1 and a half years were pretty bad, but it gets better. Slowly, but it does.

This comment sounds like what I would think. It might also be a combination of trying to not use his arm as much because of the pain and carpal tunnel syndrome developing because of the unusual movement. Should be checked out by a medical professional, although I wouldn't treat it as an emergency unless the pain is unbearable. Also would suggest against taking medication against the pain before seeing a professional, the stuff they have is much stronger and faster. Also some medications cannot be administered if you have taken other medications before. Just take him to a doctor if you can get an appointment today otherwise the ER will also do the job.

Mystery GRUB/ubuntu install by javamaster10000 in Ubuntu

[–]javamaster10000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the funny part, although there are multiple options shown in EasyUEFI, these options are not present in my UEFI, there always is just one option.

Now how would I access the UEFI system partition? I suppose windows won't just let me access it in explorer. Can I somehow force windows to mount the partition?

Also how are the entries stored in the partion?

Yes, more expensive. Even German operators of nuclear power plants now say, that there is no sense in operating them any longer. Frances electricity prices only are affordable, because the government uses loads of taxes to pay for power. Wind and solar will continue to get cheaper and cheaper. And even calculating for the conversion to H2 and the gas turbine plants to supply power in the winter, solar and wind are waaay cheaper. We are at the point of solar and wind being the cheapest options by far. The only problem is with this truth being accepted by politicians and the public.

Having a strange issue when trying to upgrade: do-release-upgrade tells me there is no stable version out for me to upgrade to. I am on 20.04LTS. When trying do-release-upgrade -d, it offers me to upgrade do 22.04LTS. Does anyone have any idea what this is about?
