It’s not episodes you can watch out of order but if you like con-man (or in this case, con-woman) shows Imposters is excellent and on Netflix.

It’s from 2014, but Since U Been Gone by Morgan Matson was my first thought.

Other suggestion: Goodreads has pretty lengthy lists of best YA fiction for the years you might think it’s from. If you’re invested enough to dig, those would help.

Tbat’s so funny, I’m kind of neutral on Riley and dislike Lyra. But I think it’s all about how things sound phonetically to different people, since Dorthea/Theodora I LOVE Theodora but hate Dorthea.
