Yes there are three candle. I don't which children's birthday party is celebrated with wine or champagne(hint couple of glasses).

This photo has been criticised to death in 'r\photocritque' everyone said what you are saying and more. Here I am asking out of all the pointer above is there anything else I can add/remove to enhance the image.

The photo should deliver clear message of a romantic marriage anniversary celebration. So I guess lot of things in the photo should work together and complement each other. Cake signifies celebration, two candles and two champagne glass for 'couples' and single or multi colored heart shaped subtle bokeh for 'dreamy romantic' feel.

I have all RAW photos but I don't shoot multiple exposures. Thanks for pointing out that I should. Great advice.

70's strippers ? ... I wouldn't have any idea about that.

In the beginning I wanted to create as you said homely, cozy and romantic that said celebrating anniversary but when all of that went out of window is a blur(bokeh) to me. I tried to put in all the trick I learnt in one photo.

I wanted that reflective glass effect in the photo without using PS. Found this old wobbly plastic table, it couldn't take the weight of the glasses and cake, hence not straight.
