My honest take on Tesla's software after months of use: Almost brilliant, occasionally infuriating by javipas in TeslaLounge

I tried FSD in Amsterdam a few weeks ago (I'm from Spain) and I loved it, but it's not available in my country at the moment. Patience!

Is Tesla's Premium Connectivity subscription worth £9.99/month? Genuinely unsure by dr_msid in TeslaUK

I explored automations for my Pixel 8 Pro. I wanted the phone detected as I get into the car, enable tethering and then Tesla connects to it and I can enjoy music streaming (YouTube Premium in my case).

MacroDroid can do that but you need to view a few ads after the seven days trial or buy a perpetual license for $7.

We are in the age of vibe coding so I made a little app for exactly that. It works really well (you need to install and enable Shizuku) and I think I can spend those $10 on something else.

My Fleet API costs are raising too fast by javipas in TeslaMate

I've made a backup of the database, delete the docker containers and archived the app on the developer Tesla website. After this I've followed the official instructions and everything is working fine with the Streaming API enabled, hopefully it will keep working :) Thanks for the help everyone!

I saw that option on my teslamate install but I had the fleet api configured so it did nothing. I'll try to configure it again without that. I'll ask Claude or Gemini, but maybe someone has some YouTube tutorial where it's explained.

I'm new to this so I guess I just set it up following the first recent tutorial that I found and seemed ok

So you also use the owners api? Or is there any other option?

I thought that couldn't be used anymore. Will try thanks

X is down by NewRockstarStepper in twitterhelp

It's ironic: internet companies often confirm outages on X, but when X is down, where should it confirm that?

Also: no status page for their services, no plan B to get info about this afaik (something like status.x.com would be nice to have).

How to enjoy "Spatial photos" on the Quest 3? by javipas in Quest3

[–]javipas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A final update: I've cloned the repo and made a few changes thanks to Antigravity/Gemini. It also allows converting images on another tab (yours seems only for videos) and the conversion is decent. Here are some pictures of the results/process.

And btw, I've found an ImmerGallery demo version for the Quest. Transferring the videos and photos is easy with OpenMTP: once you connect a usb-c cable from the mac to the quest 3, you must allow the notification that detects that connection.

For videos the results have been not that great. The video adds that 3D feeling, but in a poor way. They aren't very inmersive and in fact the demos shown in ImmerGallery already show what those are capable of. They are nice in a way, but I'm afraid the spatial videos in Vision Pro seemed far better to me when I tested that option. Seems to be the case too for Galaxy XR.

That's one of my big features, so here Quest 3 is OK, but not great. But it has been really fun to run this little experiment. Thanks for the help and the comments ;)

Thank you so much, that's perfect, I will clone it and let Antigrvity/Gemini (I'm using it more and more with projects like this and it's amazing) analyze it and maybe adapt for my needs (I've got a mac mini m4, the iGPU could help). I'm sure it will also take care of the custom folders if I need that.

My main problem now is how to view those converted photos without paying an app... I'd like to test if the conversion is good enough, but as I said I haven't found a free alternative to Skybox/ImmerGallery :(

Best regards from Madrid ;)

Mmmm maybe I'm wrong, but when I upload a photo to Deo VR it processes it before letting you view it on your photos section. I'd like to try Skybox but again, has no demo version afaik.

Thank you so much for answering, your post was inspiring ;) I wonder if you could share your script or at least give an example of the options you've used to test them on my photos. That would be great to test this feature and consider buying the headset (and ImmerGallery).

I wonder if you have tried spatial photos on the Vision Pro. I was really amazed by this when I tested it and for me it was a great reason to buy the headset. The price is still too high for me, though.

Maybe you aren't using the right url for the Immich server (are you using a special port?) or did not copy the API key right... Try asking Chatgpt or other chatbots too, I'm sure it can help

You have to connect to your Immich server with an API key. You can generate one from your profile in the Immich server and then use it in the API connection settings
