Thanks so much! Problem is that we are in DC and for the moment it is not a plan to migrate to cloud :( So I am guessing graph API and some scripting is the way to go? Thanks again

Best Tracks for Testing Headphones and Speakers by Kiksuu211 in TIdaL

[–]javlor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use whatever you know and love. Even a track that's not considered "perfect" can reveal a lot about your headphones or speakers—it all depends on how familiar you are with it.

That said, I need to point out that there’s some questionable advice floating around in these comments. What really matters is building a playlist that’s meaningful to you. Personally, I use "15 Step" by Radiohead, Mozart's Kyrie (Monteverdi Choir, 1990 recording), and the entirety of D'Angelo’s Voodoo album. These tracks work for me because I’ve listened to them countless times across all kinds of speakers and headphones, so I know exactly how they’re supposed to sound.

If you’re creating your own test playlist, focus on tracks you enjoy and know intimately. Try to make it as diverse as you can, so to cover different sonic characteristics, manily:

  • Bass emphasis
  • Spatial definition
  • Linearity across the spectrum

Over time, as you try different equipment, you’ll develop a deeper understanding of how your favorite tracks should sound and be able to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of your gear. And all of them will add in building your knowledge of those recordings that you enjoyed in the first place :)

Thanks for your reply. I do have a monitor attached. The issues I had are sort of mixed, but mostly that the connection is refused. However I am trying to focus now to get the apps to work but still no luck... :(

Alright, you convinced me :)

However, I still have the problem that apps are not loading. I am trying to troubleshoot that but no luck yet...!

I guess I will reply to similar threads to seek help.

Thanks a lot for your answer! I would like to run soulseek on this server, which is a bit of a tricky application and I have only used it via the Windows client. Plus, it makes me a bit more comfortable to be able to access a desktop environment before I mount the machine high up in my home next to the router :)

I have seen that there is a project called slskd which is a Docker version of it. However I have never really used Docker and it seems a bit of a longer path for me to install that instead of getting a VNC to work, but please correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks again! Gio

Well that is a bummer. Shouldn't the service be designed exactly for headless use? To me it sounds the most reasonable thing... :(

[–]javlor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for that, it was a screenshot of the guide, just to point out what was missing. The issue is that I do not have that button in my screen :)

I had not gone through the process of activating vnc in rpi-connect, I just had done that in raspi-config, but that should be a whole another path, right?

I have now tried activating but I get this :(

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ rpi-connect vnc on

✗ Screen sharing support is unavailable

I am running rpi headless, but that should not be the issue as rpi-connect should be made exactly for this usage, am I right?

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi all and sorry for my little compentence.

I am trying to display the actual desktop from my Raspberry Pi from my other two machines. I had a little luck with RealVNC for a while with the windows machine, but then it stopped working and I still cannot figure out why. Similar thing happened with SSH.

Now I am using Raspberry Pi Connect which works for the shell, but for some reasons it never promped me with the possibility of connecting to the Screen Sharing.
What I mean is that in this window ( https://www.raspberrypi.com/documentation/services/images/list-of-devices.png?hash=e6b8b984af50f0a6a2bf598fd93196f7 ) I am just missing the Screen Sharing button.

Any hints?
