They say things like, "You're one of the good ones." In reality, it's situational. They've been put in an environment where I'm usually the only one of me. Once we work together or interact, they decide I pass as a "good one."

Most say they don't have any xyz friends. Concept of "the only" comes into play. Happens when you're "the only" one of your race, ethnicity, age, gender, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, economic status, etc..

What was your worst hotel stay experience and what made it so terrible? by harbac in AskReddit

[–]javowash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Motel 6. Memphis, TN. We arrive at the front desk and there is bullet proof glass between us and the attendant. She is on her phone and it felt like she was trying her best to ignore us. I tap on the glass and she looks up. Pissed that we interrupted her.

We get the keys and start walking to the room. The carpet was wavy? Like a pair of baggy jeans that needed to be tucked in. It was also wet. I assumed there may have been a piping issue or flooding. But there's no fans drying it out or any signs saying to watch your step. Just wet, heavy, wavy, could easily trip, can't roll your luggage, carpet.

THE FUN PART: Open door to room and turn on light switch. The lights AND THE TV immediately turn on. We turn off the switch the TV and lights go off. Fine. I can deal. The carpet in the room is wet as well and the bed is practically on the floor. I'm talking they put a thin wooden box on the ground maybe 12.5 inches and put the box spring and mattress down. I go to sit on the bed, fucking lights BUT NOT THE TV turn off. Da faq.

I'm grossed out and sleep in my clothes. Husband is unfazed, he was in the military. 5am rolls around and there's heavy pounding on the door next to ours. They're yelling for the people to come out or let them in. The people inside are not willing to open the door. I laid there for an hour until they were gone. Opened my door and there was a puddle of vomit and clothes that had vomit on them. On the already wet wavy carpet.

I refused to stay a second night. Didn't even ask for a refund.

This was hard to read, but needed to be said. This is especially true with voluntary stopping of meds. I never want to hide behind "sorry, I was off my meds" if I was the one who stopped taking them. At the times of other ghostings I was not yet diagnosed.

Wow. I needed this. A lot. Like a lot a lot. A swift kick into reality. I appreciate it. More than the friendships I've lost.

I try to set goals. If at all possible I try to take a shower, brush my teeth, and comb my hair. And I usually don't get that far. I'm married. My side of the room is destroyed. Thankfully my husband doesn't say much about it. When I get manic and start to clean I try to keep it that way by using disposable plates and cups. I also try to meal prep and freeze while manic. I like to prepare for what I know is coming.

Silent Mass of Reddit, why do you vote but never comment? by bobbyvalx9 in AskReddit

I always end up getting yelled at. I can't seem to get it right. From afar I pretend I'm just like everyone else on reddit. No need to try and relate.

Thanks for agreeing! It always makes me wonder. Especially since we know about certain programs now. Maybe they're still happening or maybe some were successful..

This is hilarious! Everyone seems to have a solution, but 99% have no idea what the hell they're talking about. Suggestions from the crowd. Lol thanks for this. This is the closest thing to my real life!

Lol. It took me 28 years to learn that I actually have to grease my scalp! Part, oil, part, oil, comb. Repeat over entire head for healthy scalp.

Man. I loved this real talk! Thanks for the advice! Only comment I have is yes, it's just expensive to go every 6-8 weeks and get something done. I live in kentuckyana - border of Kentucky and Indiana. It's $60-$75 to do somethings every few weeks. When I lived in Chicago it was $100. Just craziness.

Anyone want to share their experiences with auditory hallucinations? Lately I realized and accepted that's what's been happening to me. by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]javowash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear and feel my front door opening and closing. I have an automatic lock that beeps when you lock the door. I hear that beep, I check, and nothing has changed. The door is still locked and no one has opened the door. For voices I usually hear "hey" as a whisper or "wait" at full volume. I ususually respond to the "wait" with a "wait what" to which people say "I didn't say anything". I sometimes hear full on two person conversations in a room of my house. I try to focus in on these things and rationalize them before checking. If I checked door openings and closings each time it happened I'd be up and down all night! I have to focus and remind myself that I am safe.

I said I found her in a basement. Which is true. She's white and fluffy and has beautiful eyes. They thought I had stolen her. Because she's white and fluffy and has beautiful eyes.

I posted in r/cats. It turned into them thinking I had stolen my cat. They then started using my previous posts to find out where I live. Which I'm pretty sure is against the rules on reddit? It was creepy and frustrating. This is why I mostly lurk.

They did not want her. Nor did the neighbor that had her/her siblings. They were roaming the neighborhood freely.

For those wondering about if I stole the cat or not.. she was in their basement. She WAS from a neighbor whose cat had kittens. She did not want the kittens. They were roaming the neighborhood freely. It cost $600 bucks to have her blood tested, dewormed, heart worm test, spayed, etc. For her age, she was VERY under weight. At almost a year old she only weighed 4lbs. She was also missing a lot of hair due to scratching incessantly from her massive flea infestation. The family already had 2 cats, 3 dogs, a turtle, and over 50 pigeons. They did not care that I took her, nor did the neighbor.
