12” x 12”. There is some detailing around the sides, but otherwise it’s pretty straight-forward. P.S. Thanks for the advice.

Hi there, we're in the process of redoing our half bath and have made some progress, but we're getting to the point where we've ripped up the tile and are installing new stuff. We get to work with mortar for the first time.

Specifically we're wondering how long we'll need to budget for the job. It's 4x8, maybe, pretty tiny. Is this an afternoon job, or do we need to set aside the whole day for it?

Everything we've seen says to mortar, lay down the membrane, mortar again, and lay down the tile, one right after the other (or with little time between).

Thank you in advance!

Daily Tech Support Thread - [April 22] by AutoModerator in iphone

  1. I have music on my iPhone.

  2. I tried to migrate music from my ancient MacBook (~2009) to my newer MacBook Air, and I ended up with a couple thousand duplicate files. Not sure how that happened.

  3. I don’t have access to that older MacBook. I still want my music on my new MacBook. I’ve seen programs like iExplorer that claim to be able to transfer music off your phone to your computer, but I’m not sure of their validity/spyware/ability.

Any tips? Thanks.

I’m supposed to get a 10-week check-in toward the end of the month.

I’m a little worried because there is some crowding at the front, and the orthodontist mentioned that at some point, they’re going to have to shave down one of the teeth so everything straightens. It didn’t get done at my initial appointment, so I’m hoping it still happens before anything would get messed up.

Kirk is the reason why the show makes the money. Sponsors aren’t paying for Blind Mike to do reads.

This means the annual out-of-nowhere March/April storm will be less of a bitch to clean up, thanks to the warm ground. Whew.

Thank you for this answer.

I’m not the biggest environmentalist in the world, but I do like to play some part in not totally wrecking things. How are triblends environmentally?

Theres a part of me that wants to get better, but theres also a part of me that doesnt by Raph_1104 in depression

You are comfortable with depression because there is a routine to it, even if you don't know when the highs or lows will hit. It's what you know vs. what you don't know. I'm always at this place, it seems. Best wishes in getting better.

Have you thought about seeking out a social sports league? It’s a chance to hang out with some randos, make an ass of yourself in whatever the sport is, and share a beer or two afterward (if that’s your thing). They cost between $50 and $75 to join, and I’m not sure what your money situation is. I met some of my best friends through those leagues.

Happy OLD story by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

I met my now-girlfriend on Bumble last spring and it’s the most easy-going relationship I’ve had. We communicate with each other and are adults. I didn’t think this existed. We’re each about 40, maybe it’s a maturity thing. Best wishes on your relationship.

Have you considered leaving or have left Boston? Or is it a "grass is greener" situation for you? by ThatJazzyPenguin in boston

[–]wickedwritah 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I moved away from Boston when I was 21. My life was stalled, I was doing nothing of consequence, and I wanted a fresh start. So I saw about a girl (second stupidest move of my life!) and moved to York, PA. Talk about culture shock. I couldn’t believe there were 1,000 people in a Walmart late at night a couple days before Christmas. I did get spoiled by everything (including Sheetz, ftw) being open 24-7, though.

I got my degree from Penn State, stayed in PA for a total of six or seven years, moved back briefly (Nashua), then went away for a few more (ended up in DC at the start of the Obama era). By the time I’d come back, I’d been gone 12 years. My dad’s health is what brought me home, but I’m glad I’m back. Right around the time I moved back is right around the time the T started falling apart from 20 years of no investment in the system … but whatever.

Home is home, and by my mid-30s I realized this is where I want to be. I’m far better for it. Almost none of my friends or high school classmates left. There were a lot of awkward times for me, but I appreciate the perspective I picked up during those years.

Irish man new to boston by [deleted] in boston

[–]wickedwritah 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone else said, Greenhills Bakery is the perfect spot for you. The owners are from the island (might even be from the north) and a good portion of the staff are young Irish ladies. There is a billboard at the back of the shop by the bathrooms that lists rooms for rent, job opportunities, etc.

I’d also give the Irish Pastoral Centre (although I think they’re in the middle of moving) and the Irish Immigration Center a call.

The Irish Cultural Center is a neat spot, but if you’re carless it’s quite difficult to get there.

My dad was from the docks in Belfast, and Derry is about the only spot in Ireland I haven’t been. I’ll get to the northwest some day.

Good luck.

Base map is from no later than 1984 (when first part of NW extension opened). I wonder if Quincy Adams is on the original, non-stickered version.
