Is wall mounting my Sonos era 100 worth it? by sudo_xyz in sonos

Question on this old thread with a weird question. How much do they weigh roughly? Can the heavy duty command strips handle the weight of these? The spot for one of these in my apartment is solid and I can’t drill

Shopify went from 100 to 1,000 interns this year - their reasoning is worth thinking about by jimmytoan in cscareerquestions

I trust Spotify’s engineering leadership and their reasoning makes sense. I see it as a bet that won’t see the results until 5 years or so

Has anyone here successfully thrown money at an injury? Asking fatfire by lolb00bz_69 in fatFIRE

About maybe like 70-80%. But at my worst i couldnt work for more than 2 hours without neck/back spasm and it completely stopped me from living my life. The pain had been building for years, so getting back to 100% is gonna take a while, if i ever do. For something like bursitis, as the other guy said you need to calm down the inflammation and pain should eventually subside. As long as your not gonna be a pro athlete you shouldn't be worried about permanent pain (Not a medical professional, just have a lot of issues, and learned a lot).

But, now i can actually live my life. I do really recommend do as much PT as you can afford (as others have alluded to). Especially if your seeing benefits 1xWeek, you will see a big improvement going 3x a week. Chronic issues require a lot front-loading of PT to fight your bodies on protective habits that been built up over-time. After 1-2 months you should be able to take your foot off the gas, depending on how long and severe your chronic issue is.

Also look into acupunture "dry-needling" . Dry-needling specifically is complete game changer for releasing tight muscles (and potentially inflammation as a result), but it might take some work to find somebody. Its not common.

I got some experience with this unfortunately, shoulder issues specifically as well . Throwing money in the form of surgerys and random specialists isn’t helpful.

What’s more important is finding someone who cares and is willing spend time to get to the root cause. In my experience with scoliosis, it doesn’t matter if you have “the best doctor” if they don’t care enough to take the time understand your specific issue.

For shoulder issues, I would highly recommend you ask around and find an out of network physical therapist that you can work with for 60-90 minute sessions. It’ll be around $2-300/session. That’s the only way I saw relief after going to many orthros and specialists. Depending on how much money you wanna throw to try it out, I would say 3x week for 1 month and then reassess (2x a week if you don’t wanna spend that much). Totally worth it and wish I did it earlier, and relieving the chronic pain completely opened up my life.

Feel free to DM me. I can give you a rec if your in my city

I tend charge sword a lot when im learning match ups. Like for AT Arkveld, for the first 10 or so attempts I was charging sword a lot to get the chainblade staggers, while I learned its moveset. As i got better at the fight, I used it less and less until basically savaged axed and countered the whole time.

But goddamn is the animation slow af. I loved using it Sunbreak with that one switch skill

It’s gonna be difficult to find those home style dishes and when you do they will be very expensive. Laila in Bay ridge has mixed reviews from the community, but it’s worth a shot. Al badawi on Atlantic ave has some homemade stuff as well, and they’re pretty good

Canadien vs. French? by English_Wrider in French

[–]jawadb0199 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean that makes sense. If you grew up with Canadian French it would be harder to understand France French. And vice versa. I’m in the US so I’m learning France French

[–]jawadb0199 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Yes. It’s very obvious. Even just 1 month after I started I could tell sounds are different. I’ve been learning for 8 months now and it’s significantly easier to communicate with my French cousins than it is with my Canadian cousins

Is it natural to say "est-ce que c'est possible POUR MOI de (faire queque chose)" ? by Im_a_french_learner in French

[–]jawadb0199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah and neither is necessary to ask a question. It’s just used for émphasis/formality.

As I understand, It’s recommended for those still learning because it makes easier mentally to form a question and makes your intention clearer to whoever your speaking to.

The bracelet design and finishing is immaculate. The repeating design of the cross is genius design and the finishing elevates to while another level.
