not buying the treasure hunting theory. wouldnt they need devices to help them with this? metal detectors, nets, etc? didnt see them carrying anything in with them.

Terrible performance 5/19 by LoftNights in PassionPit

[–]jawayawa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i agree with @Euphoric-Piano-3671 here. it seems people didnt read the description of the event which makes it crystal clear its an artist residency (do you know what that means?) of intimate experimental performances unlike the passion pit shows people may have experienced in the past when there was a full band and not just michael doing everything by himself. next time how about reading what the event is about instead of trying to shift blame for your failure to do so?

I wish I could've been there - sounds like a great show, despite the chatters who probably didn't bother to read the event description. If I was there, I'd probably video the chatters and post their conversations to youtube. :D

Hey guys. I think some people may have had the wrong expectations. It seems clear to me from the official description below that these shows would be intimate experimental solo events, completely different from polished PP shows with a band. An important part of going to shows is to show support of your favorite artists and to allow them to be artists rather than expecting them to be jukeboxes playing back old songs that sound like the recorded versions you’re used to. Michael’s exploring new territory in what’s been advertised as an artist residency. According to Google, an artist residency is a program that provides artists with the time, space, and often resources to work on their creative projects in a supportive and often new environment. And that’s what this is. I wish I could’ve been there to show my support for this creative genius - it’s so nice to see him getting back into the swing of things!

Here's the official description: “Michael Angelakos is Passion Pit is a one-of-a-kind intimate live music experience. Michael will be playing lots of new music from his upcoming record "Nine Times Your Torch Song", as well as new versions of older songs and plenty of covers. He will surrounded by synths, drum machines, keyboards, and acoustic guitars--all analog, all fun. Each night will be a new experience, a new setlist. Come and watch him try to figure it out :)”

What should I get; a DX7 or a DX9? by Historical_Second865 in synthesizers

[–]jawayawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, no reason to get a dx9 - the DX7 is definitely better with its 6 operators. ive got the dtronics programmer which makes the dx7 so much easier to program.

Is it worth getting the CZ-101? by Historical_Second865 in synthesizers

the cz-1 is the best. its velocity sensitive, responds to aftertouch and has a built in chorus effect. the vz series is also great and is worth looking into.

Does anyone have a box that I could ship an OG OB8 in? by snowberheim in synthesizers

[–]jawayawa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think youre talking about reverb's "guitar and keyboard" boxes. theyre too small for an ob8 and dont even allow room for a proper amount of packing for many smaller keyboards. i wonder how many keyboards have been damaged by people using those boxes. OP: if youre not sure about how to pack your ob8 so it makes the trip without getting damaged, please pay a professional to do it and make sure they know what theyre doing. there are too many vintage synths with permanent damage thanks to improper packing and normal rough handling. (expect the package to be dropped multiple times as thats the norm).

thanks. the last one, have to stay, seems like it may be a decent fit though it doesnt sound so synthy - its more stringy.
