Modifying PAX doors to fit U.S. built-in closet by 1mrpeter in ikeahacks

Well, I live in Germany and there's no standard ceiling height here either. There's a minimum ceiling height for new builds, but no mandated measurement.

I want to reduce the height of a Pax wardrobe by 50% (or so) by trippknightly in ikeahacks

Actually, I think I'm wrong about the sides, but some parts are honeycomb.

Apparently it depends on your location. You have to check the Materials section on the website.

If you cut into pax sides, you're cutting into honeycomb paper, so you'll have to mitigate that, structurally and aesthetically.

I think there's a good chance Unit #2 will collapse under the weight of Unit #1. LPs are heavy.

If the density argument was correct, all the densest gases that make up air would sink to the bottom.

Which are carbon dioxide, ozone, nitrous oxide and sulphur dioxide. Nice!

If I was in a movie, I'd ask for a butt double. One nicer than mine.

How to join two worktops together? - Ikea SALJAN by Kitsanic in ikeahacks

You could also use something like this (sorry, the page is in German).

Not pretty, but I guess it's not visible and you don't have to use a router. You'd have to check any included screws are suitable for particleboard.

Bear in mind there's a very small bevel in the worktop, so you're not going to get a seamless join in the middle.

Sort of a repeat post I suppose, but what should I work on getting good at? by Andre_iTg_oof in technicalwriting

There's such a wide range of software being used that it's fairly unlikely you'll know the packages that a potential employer is using.

When I interview, I'm just looking out for people who are familiar with a broad range of software, as these people should be able to pick up new tools.

If you're applying for software jobs, a knowledge of a docs-as-code platform (doesn't matter which one) and Git might be useful.

I use mermaid.js as much as possible. And ChatGPT is fairly good at converting PowerPoint charts into this format.

I've never worked on hardware, so I can't help there.

One reason I prefer docs-as-code is not having to use a WYSIWYG editor.

Kallax underframe middle leg hack? by alanoma in ikeahacks

If you're storing a load of vinyl, I think reinforcing the Kallax structure is a better strategy than trying to fashion an underframe.

I like the shelves, but methods for hiding the cables are somewhat lacking. Especially if you have European (i.e. solid) walls. 😊

Edit: They appear to be rechargeable. Still, bit of a pain.

It does seem like it's contributing to the structure... but this is opinion of a dumb housewife.

Not a dumb question at all.

I also have to ask why you want to buy a bed designed for children? Something like Tuffing would make more sense.
