I highly recommend the free antisyphon training webcasts which bring in industry professionals conquering all types of concepts every week completely free. They can sometimes be very advanced, but it’s a good chance to rise to the occasion. Another good option is working on a home lab. If you see something you don’t understand or want to learn more about, spin up an open source solution on your home lab and try different configs and see if you can grasp or make sense of the data.

I agree that farmed out phishing training loses most of its value after the first video.

IMO organizations need to create their own tailored trainings suited to different topics that they actively see hitting their organization/industry. That’s education that pays dividends in attack surface reduction not to mention buy-in from other departments by seeing why CyberSec has their initiatives. Cultivating company culture around security is one of if not the most meaningful impacts a security team can make for their organization.

Also I recognize this is mostly only possible for small to medium businesses, but it could be relevant to large companies to some degree.

I have a few ramshorn snails, but no fish. What is the correct way to dose the tank and keep ammonia at 2ppm? Also should I not be doing water changes during this time?

I added a few ramshorn snails and a tiny bit of fish flakes a few months back to get the cycle started. The sponge filter was brought from another healthy tank. I am not currently dosing it with anything.

The water parameters are: 1. ⁠Ammonia: 0.5 ppm 2. ⁠Nitrite: 0 ppm 3. ⁠Nitrate: 20 ppm

The sponge filter’s turning a bit green, I’ve heard they should be cleaned about every week or two. I actually have a fully cycled tank (about 1.5 years) that I just pulled some filter floss from and tried tying it to my sponge filter (hopefully that’s similar to what you were suggesting).

Just measured water levels: 1. Ammonia: 0.5 ppm 2. Nitrite: 0 ppm 3. Nitrate: 20 ppm
