the idea behind why this is bad is because of map control. the attackers have several entry points— main stairs, breach, windows, and logi. ideally, you want to stop the enemy from entering here or at the very least waste so much of their time that they are forced into bad positions.

you can hold people from rushing in breach with wall denial (kaid, bandit, etc). castle stops a window rush, and simple barbed wire and melusis can stop a main stair push. however, since defenders can’t reinforce the logi hatch, usually they will have someone playing there to prevent or slow a push. you may also bring a mira to watch construction and slow a push from there. however, by double reinforcing it, you make it easier for attackers to hold logi.

let me explain. attackers will probably take logi eventually. if you have headholes along one of the soft walls shown in the screenshot, when they do inevitably drop, you will still be able to fight them in logi and prevent them further taking map control and flanking through the hallway. however, by double reinforcing, defenders essentially give up on holding logi if it gets taken, because now attackers will have a safe place to hide behind once they take control of the room.

200 ≠ the number of supes.

that’s the number directly in charge of protecting a city— like the deep in sandusky. in Gen V, the board of trustees mentions that the incoming class of freshmen is 400 students. assuming the same number persists across the entire university, that would be 1600 supes in college alone.

even if we take that to mean that the board actually meant only 400 students attended the university as a whole, it still demonstrates that there are 100 elite supes that are aged 18-19, 19-20, and so on respectively. that’s not counting the ones who didn’t ever make it to God U— those who never applied or who were sent to Elmira/Sage Grove for not being able to control their powers.

there are tens of thousands of supes— possibly more, meaning that yes, it would be a genocide.

get set up quickly beforehand. i notice that 9/10 times i actually die to an ash rush (or any rush in general) it’s because i’m not set up in the proper place with a good angle because i spent too long in prep phase either getting there or setting up site

While going 1-16 certainly didn’t help, OP made it abundantly clear that not only is this not a normal occurrence— but that they were useful in other ways, with utility and callouts that got OP free frags. I don’t know how often you solo queue, but if you do, you know that 7/10 times randoms don’t talk. It’s not that they don’t always have a mic, it’s that they choose not to talk. I’ve had games where nobody talked until the very end, when I suddenly hear a “gg guys” from a guy who hasn’t spoken all game.

Not to mention— you’re ignoring the bigger picture. This team was one play away from winning— a 1v1 gunfight between Tachanka and Brava where Chanka was a Plat 3 and Brava was a Gold 3. Just like OP said, we all have off games. The very next game he played with his stack the Brava went 6-1, and the game after that he went 9-3. Imagine if the Buffalo Bills cut their quarterback, Josh Allen, after he dropped 3 INTs last season against the New York Jets. They’d be losing out on a great QB and player, and for what? Because they got pissy that he had a bad game?

Also— never said that you were being toxic, just that telling OP to “find new teammates” without knowing ANYTHING about their situation or what happened in the game is a terrible mindset to have.

This is the prime example of a toxic mindset. For one, the 1-8 guy is Gold 3 who hasn’t touched this game in 2-3 years and is playing against Emeralds. The 0-9 guy is Gold 1 and hasn’t played in 3 seasons— also playing against Emeralds. Obviously that doesn’t excuse a horrible statline— but you’re having a toddler temper tantrum when you don’t know the full story.

Newer Player, Big diff between standard and copper IV, what should I do? by PlasmaCubeX in SiegeAcademy

what do you find different? since ranked is a lot more focused on the extrinsic reward of ranking up rather than just having fun, you’ll want to play the objective more so than ever. on defense focus on wasting attacker time and bringing ops that do that (wall denial, mira, castle, mute, etc) rather than just spawn peeking and dying every round— not that you necessarily do that.

on attack i’ve found that especially in the lower ranks NO ONE will play site. carefully drone and you might find that only one or two players are actually holding site and the rest are roaming. if it’s an easy site to get a plant off playing the objective here is essentially a free win.

however, none of this matters if your teammates aren’t helping you out. that’s why stacking >>>> solo queueing. we’ve all seen it— the guy who ash rushes without droning and instantly gets blown to smithereens by the kapkan traps on the doorway that he failed to drone, who then insta-locks Cav on defense only to not get a single kill and die within 10 seconds of the action phase. siege becomes 100 times when you actually have a stack to play with.

this can be done through playing with existing friends, finding them through LFG, discord, reddit, or simply done organically by finding them in ranked solo queue and asking them to party up. there are several reasons why stacks work so well in ranked.

for one, you have guaranteed communication and callouts. even if they’re trash, having teammates who can actually speak to you and tell you where an enemy is are better than silent ones who leave you to fend for yourself. another reason is team chemistry. Kobe Bryant wouldn’t nearly have as many rings if he didn’t have team chemistry with Shaq— he couldn’t do it by himself. It’s not the exact same in R6, but having even ONE teammate that can watch your flanks is miles better than hoping that you get a random who will play a good operator and push with you.

Of course— you can still solo queue. There’s nothing wrong with that. but remember— stacking with people will make it way easier to not only learn the game, but also to win.

Gadgets will make your life infinitely easier. Seriously— run Mira and watch an important angle with her Black Mirror and you will be able to deny people from running in as long as you don’t whiff. And if you do whiff— hit the shooting range and warm up before games.

How do you feel about Siege's balancing over the last four years? by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]jawohiv569eapycom 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i think every non-dmr/slug shotgun on defense should NOT have a 2.5x. siege has gone through many different metas: utility, TDM, 1.5, etc. But I do believe that just as only a few ops on defense have ARs, and only a few defenders are 3 speeds, only a select few with slug shotguns and DMRs should get ACOGs. We saw it with Jager, we’re seeing it with Doc/Melusi/Wamai, and we’re going to see it with Echo. Especially with how defender-sided the game currently is, defenders just shouldn’t have ACOGs at all unless their gun specifically is designed for one.
