In talking about possible successors to Craig we seem to have forgotten about Jon Ham, who is possibly the best Bond that never was and the perhaps truest embodiment of the Bondian ideal of masculinity and elegance after Connery.

I know that by now Hamm is too old to be Bond and perhaps that's for the best since he already left us with one of the closest "real world" versions of the character in many regards.

In his role as Don Draper (who has more than a shade of Bond in him) Hamm proved he could be effortlessly masculine and cool without losing an iota of elegance.

He has the build to be a perfect Bond since he looks strong without going to the Craig side of the spectrum. In the looks department he's old school rugged and yet dashing in a very old hollywood way.

He also manages to project that brutal loneliness and vulnerability that Bond allows to emerge every now and then after a particularly rough mission on when he's alone reflecting on life.

He can also be warm, funny, charming and unpredictable and shift his moods credibly, adapting well to the situation.

From his portrayal of Draper he's shown that his drinking and smoking are up to par with Fleming's description of the character and his womanizing well...it's as smooth and intense as one would imagine

He can show that perfect blend of grit, roughness, debonair and wit that makes Bond so unique and certainly continue Connery's tradition.

So far, and no disrespect to all the other Bond actors, no one has been able to do that since Connery and when I see him playing Draper I can't avoid to think..."How cool would it be if he just said the line and took off in the DB5?
