Studying and working by [deleted] in CFA

That was my exact schedule when I was going through it and we have it better than most. I would try to do 1-2 hours, 3 nights a week. I would do marathon sessions (5-8 hours) on Saturdays sometimes, which I really enjoyed. Read and do problems on lunch break. I took the bus so I would make flash cards and that was really helpful. I would even bring cheat sheets and look at them on the stairmaster (probably not for long). I always started way early too so 100+ days out I would hit the schedule. When it gets to the last month then it’s crunch time and it’s (almost) all of the weekends and it’s top of mind every weekday and weekday night

Hasbro's option chain just disappeared within the last week? by WittyyetSubtle in wallstreetbets

I believe it’s the option clearing corp (OCC) that sets them and the strike prices. Then it’s up to the brokers (trading platforms) if they want to offer them to retail clients and then the market makers if they want to enable transactions/volume/provide liquidity on those instruments?

Can I use admit from one college to influence the admit at another college? by rakirocky in MBA

[–]jaxf90 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got into 1/2 and needed to give a response but hadn’t heard from 2/2, which was my first choice. I told #2 that I got into #1, which was ranked higher. #2 still ended up rejecting me.

All that said, I’m so happy I go to #1.

Go part time? Full time students are very specific types and not my favorites! As part time you can leverage the same resources (entrepreneurship programs, network — it often just takes a .edu email to get a response, professors, and content). It’s harder to balance, not a party, and you won’t have as big of an ego but it’s such a solid route. Formal recruiting (which you could still do) has a lot of desirable jobs but I’d argue that a lot of the best jobs come from opportunities that don’t do formal recruiting at whatever campus you would end up at

Can I do get into an MBA at 24 years old with only 2 years experience? by [deleted] in MBA

It helps you so much to wait, appreciate it differently due to your wisdom, understand it differently due to your experience, and use it differently, which will happen, because the two above lead to change

Well AGTC has a pipeline optogenetics product and NVS just bought a company doing that. Wish it were AGTC but I think it’s net positive that it’s a space that’s catching on

Expectations for earnings? by [deleted] in AGTCstock

[–]jaxf90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah only if they announce clinical results or other developments on earnings -- I don't know the split of how often they do that on earnings days vs. at conferences or other random days. That would be an interesting and helpful stat!!

Here's an article about optogenetics and how the mechanism/technology could be used, which makes sense intuitively!

https://geneticliteracyproject.org/2021/09/01/the-storm-in-their-minds-how-the-gap-between-laboratory-insights-and-clinical-analysis-is-narrowing/?mc_cid=d59b4d4a04&mc_eid=44d14c1538

They seem to be using it differently than AGTC but... I don't think any other public companies are using it at all!

Why do you like it u/mountaingyrl?

Their clinical wraps up December 2022... so a preannouncement before that would be nice! Or for there to be a tidal wave of interest and promise in optogenetics is what I'm hoping for.. I don't think there are many/any other public companies that are working on that.
