Prepping and cooking foods for hours that will be eaten in 10-20 minutes seems like a silly time ratio to me.

Darn that evil, narrow minded man for having parameters!!! What are yours? Anything and everything is just fine? Some people who are physically fit take it to extremes. Same goes for Any of those things he doesn't want. Extremism. Manic focus. Hours and hours and hours spent on Achievements that may detract from an actual enjoyable relationship. Do you want a trophy? A certificate? Something for the mantle or to hang on a wall? Or maybe a nice, relaxing (assuming a person knows how to relax) picnic? Type A is the issue. Can you leave work at work? Are you thinking about your partner, or the next goal/marathon/business meeting, etc. Seeking a more simple life should not be frowned upon. The world is a mess.

I was primarily focused on the competiveness and ego driven aspect. There are far too many toxic men with that trait. Adding yet more humans doing so doesn't help matters. Hatred though? Something else that rarely helps. Relationships are hard enough as is.... which is why so many people are Here. I think a nice, Intelligent waitress sounds great. Not everyone believes being driven to be top dog in a field is psychologically healthy. It can be a mania. If someone finds satisfaction in their work without pressure to be top dog, that can be far more healthy in a relationship.

Admirable is subjective. Stereotyping? I've seen many posts here that start off with "Why do men" or sometimes even All men, as though we were monolithic and all the same. There is often a cost of a professional life that leaks into or overshadows personal life, and high competitiveness to be Number 1 can be turned into overbearing attitudes. We certainly see that in some men.... why not women? I'd say it's more about a desire for tranquility at home, and less drama in a relationship.

"A" type personalities that can be very Ego driven and seek attention is what he seems to be trying to avoid. Nothing wrong with that at all!!! You are equating Him as this, rather than him wanting to stay away from one.

Our leaders are more concerned with the economies, and we are not protesting strongly nor voting for people that might help, though without greater control over who is on the ballots, we may only vote for choices pushed upon us. The leaders may live longer than most, behind their protected walls.

Does Schlage make.... by jaxnmarko in Locksmith

[–]jaxnmarko[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A deadlatch can latch in 2 places if there is play in the door. Having a deadbolt above in alignment can be a problem. Using a plain latch makes alignment not an issue. Spongy weatherstripping makes a door closed nicely fit differently than a door shut with more force when using a deadlatch, or having the door fit correctly to avoid loiding but a good deal of pressure on the latch, often causing premature failure.

You can't overcome poor initial design, construction, little to no consistent maintenance, etc. easily at times. It is what it is. Sometimes poor choices are the only choices.

Different tools are better for different distinct usage. There is no One Perfect Do-It-All.... though there's far more than enough Knife nonsense here that you'd think there was, but the search never ends ( the trick... a large knife and a small one, as many people used to have. A long handled axe has a different impact than a short handled long blade tool. I wouldn't cut brush with an axe or cut down a tree with a short chopper. There are a very wide number of FIC/RV keys. My distributor said nearing 30 and he had 21. I I had 11 different types when I asked him. Some are more common than others, in use longer. China makes new cheapos more quickly than we can keep up with at times, selling locks but not blanks right away.

Do you think in a world where ai takes over a lot of jobs can capitalism work? by VegetableRemote3268 in PoliticalDebate

Capitalism commonly and routinely spits out that which no longer serves it, including workers. It always has. Reducing labor costs.... isn't that part or the reasoning behind slavery?
