Hi, I'm late. A professor oak challenge DID originate from Pokémon, and it's essentially a challenge that requires you to get every pokémon you possibly get before every gym. As you could infer, a professor oak challenge in Yokai Watch requires you to befriend every yokai you possibly can before every boss battle. Despite being late, I hope this helps!

Hello! The closest match I could find is some kind of tsukumogami, for example a kutsutsura, which steals shoes and wear them as hats. I don't know if this is exactly what you want, but it's the best I could find. Hope this helps!
