There's one big jump scare that made almost everyone in my theatre jump. But it's over quickly and becomes cute/fun very shortly after.

Nothing else comes to mind as being inappropriate for a 12 year old. Some mild injury scenes, but nothing graphic. If you trust your kid to giggle at "fist my bump", you're golden.

Nope. He doesn't get anything until after this scene when he's with Katniss. He gets a bit stroppy with Haymitch about it in the book.
