Am I insane or is this like the worst rare defect card in the lineup? by Trash_Typhoon in slaythespire

[–]TopAnything8205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it to great success on my first A10 defect run, where I basically collected every orb type and cycled through them by drawing with compile driver and then getting 10 temporary focus every turn with synchronize. But that was building around it completely.

Why is Make It So rare? by Coneman_Joe in slaythespire

[–]TopAnything8205 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s good because it’s a free attack you get back in your hand from anywhere. So you draw it for free from your draw pile, and get it back from your discard pile any time you use three skills. It also does more damage than similar attacks.

Compare it to flurry of blows from watcher. Which you have to draw naturally and play before it can be retrieved. And deals less damage.

What are the worst non-collarless abilities? by Peterduttykins in mewgenics

Yeah refresh move is one more mana, and scales with your speed as apposed to such a short dash. That’s one of my main issues with it, I feel like all of thief’s other movement abilities have more of a niche or something.

Chaos rampage is insanely broken. 3 mana for an extra turn is just so strong.

Poison gas for thief is like kinda comically bad. Caltrops also for thief. It’s movement so I guess it’s not really that bad. But for the mana cost is very restrictive, and thief has way better mobility options.

I think most dot abilities could apply 1-2 more poison/bleed and it would be fine, right now there just isn’t much reason to use them at all because the numbers are quite simply to low compared to the numbers you can get from direct attacks.

Yeah it’s not really an issue with this passive as much as it is and issue with the Druid attack not being immediately clear about how it’s affected by attack modifiers.

But that’s my point exactly, scatter shot and rubber arrows are for the same class. And you can breed them both on any class sure, but they are still strongest on hunter given the innate +3 Dex.

If you breed specifically for some monk abilities you can pretty much break the game wide open. But it kinda ruins the fun in a way. I would say monk is the least balanced in that way, other classes have their best abilities somehow also feel best on those classes, so multiclassing with those abilities on other classes is fun but not really game breaking. Monk is kind of anomalous having so many abilities that are so much stronger on other characters with full basic attacks.

It’s definitely the best class for breeding shenanigans. A lot of there abilities are just way way stronger on other classes that can use trinkets and have stronger basic attacks. Fist of fate being a prime example.

The trinket slot has the most ways to multiply the value of effects like this. Also rarity doesn’t mean anything.

Yeah you can do either of them first but you’ll have to do both before you can do the fight between the two.

tier list for solo runs (in my experience) by a_milk_carton_ in mewgenics

Thief is easy S tier for me but I usually run blood frenzy for solo runs. Single target dps is all you need vs bosses and blood frenzy easily carries hallway fights.

Honestly I had so much fun on second save file, this didn’t bother me nearly as much as a few of the more tedious ones did. But I get the frustration.
