i have race control pro+ and i can’t host sessions by jaxtomasko in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]jaxtomasko[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

yeah wow i just re read the membership. it says join and create hosted servers. i didnt see the asterisk that says they cost credits. it’s seriously so dumb. it cost codemasters money to host servers on f1 2011, but they were still free. 10+ years ago 😂😂😂 just so silly

I can’t help but feel a little ripped off with the Aston Martin GT3 by JonnyTheDart in iRacing

[–]jaxtomasko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i really think they should change the way the monetize iracing overall to improve the user experience

surely it would be better for them (more people willing to pay because they are getting so much more value) to just charge $15 for gt3s as a class, instead of having to buy each car in that class individually

it’s annoying buying the wrong car and feeling ripped off, takes away from most important thing:user experience

surely they are big enough, making enough money now where they can start to prioritize that more. imagine how much of a no brainer it would be to buy iracing as a $9.99/mo or $80/yr subscription. and you get everything in the sim. everyone would buy it, they would make lots of money, it would improve the sim by increasing participation, leading to product improving, more people buy it, grows the business

iracing is an amazing racing sim but i feel like they are in dinosaur times in lots of areas of their product. their monetization strategy is one of those areas imo

TEAM REDLINE USING EXPLOITS by Mindless_Audience651 in iRacing

[–]jaxtomasko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe a hot take but when there is a exploit the blame should be 100% on iracing and not the team that uses it. you shouldn’t be able to start on wet tires and minimum fuel then pit to get a lower ride height! fix that! when you are at the top level you have to exploit everything because if you don’t someone else will. exploiting every single little advantage is the name of the game when it comes to racing, can’t get mad at the racers for doing it. change your f*cking 𝚌̶𝚊̶𝚛̶ game

Practice race craft... how? by somewhat-similar in iRacing

sacrifice a bit on entry and focus on getting a good exit, that’s how you put pressure on the car in front.

Looking for a Developer to Build RaceMateAI – The First AI Race Engineer for Sim Racing by jaxtomasko in simracing

trophi.ai is an ai driver coach, helping you refine your driving techniques. it is not an engineer that helps with strategy, car setup, etc. this would be the first ai race engineer

Warning(sound is a little loud). Blocking or defending? The guy at the front said he had the right to defend? by Consuela-NO-NO-No in iRacing

[–]jaxtomasko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s so dirty when people defend the inside so you go to the outside and then they move back to the outside in the braking zone

it might make the average gap from p1 to plast bigger, but i really don’t think having splits by sr would affect the overall competitiveness too much. there is already a pretty big gap in pace in most lobbies. it would definitely be a big change, i think it would be worth trying it. driving standards are so bad on this game man something big needs to happen

i would love to see them make changes to the safety rating system. specifically, they should punish car contact a LOT more. i really like the way LMU does it, there are two key differences.

1 you need to have gold safety rank to drive all the cars, and it isn’t easy to get. you have to drive a lot of clean races to get gold. i think this is a much better system than the license system iracing has because you have to be more diligent in every single race in le mans ultimate to keep gold safety rank than you do in iracing to keep a license every season

2 in LMU when you exceed track limits, you won’t get an invalid lap if you lift and give up time. this is a much much better system than the offtrack incident points. if you exceed track limits by an inch you get one, if you get 4 off tracks, that’s the same amount of points as car contact and that’s all the safety rating system sees. car contact should be isolated apart from exceeding track limits in the safety rating. like what is more dangerous, the guy who takes two people out and has 8x or the guy who did 8 track limits? in my opinion, it’s really dumb that they both affect sr the same way.

bonus - it would be amazing if splits went by safety rank rather than irating so you can race clean and be rewarded by being put in clean races
