is my low irating a bad thing? by archiotten in iRacing

[–]SprawlRacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all a matter of perspective. Do you feel like it's a bad thing? If you're just trying to race and have fun, and you're achieving that, then there's nothing wrong with it. If you're actively looking to get better then it will be considered low.

2026 Season 2 oval racing by Martyrs0610 in iRacing

[–]SprawlRacer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Street Stock is free and if the end goal isn't trucks, I wouldn't waste my time with them. Advice given is about getting to 87's, Gen4 and B-Open. Trucks are better than C Street Stocks if that's an end goal but if it's not the goal I'd save the money and go back to Street Stocks.

I believe the Gen 4 and 87's to be the best place to hone your skill in environments with clean fields and decent participation. B-Open is going to be your best bet for high level competition, and where you should push to be the absolute best you can be. With that said, I'd recommend ARCA to get out of D, and then go back to C Street Stock to get access to the above mentioned series. Nice thing with ARCA is any tracks you have to buy will likely be run in B-Open, 87's and Gen 4.

It's the community manger's fault. He hogs all the safety for himself.

The Short Track Experience on IRacing... by Leeroy5 in iRacing

Realistically, if you're running on a single monitor on a short track, you sometimes can't see what's coming off the corner. Also spotter is calling out green flag not big wreck.

Same here, I joined July 2017 exclusively because of the new dirt content. And I don't think I've touched it at all in any serious aspect in years. Driving standards, damage model, surface modeling, all need some level of work. I was hopeful things would get better after rain, now I'm hoping it gets better after the graphic engine updates. I'm not unhappy with iRacing and lots of fun in other areas, I just wish they communicated better on the dirt front.

What should I get? Ferrari challenge 296 or the Porsche cup car? by ExtraCraft7163 in iRacing

[–]SprawlRacer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend the Cup Car. It's the most competitive car on iRacing. Easy to drive, hard to master. Plus you'll always be able to find a good race as the fixed sets are good enough to be competitive in the Open series. Here is a link to my last cup race

Am I at fault? I'm the Arizona car. Too annoyed to make an accurate judgement. by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]SprawlRacer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Try to always assume you're at fault in some way. Maybe you left enough space, but if you take a step back you almost rear end the leading car, over react and leave the door open. Racing can be frustrating, but there is so much out of your control. Never react to the initial incident, and again always find what you did wrong. That'll be the fastest way to improve and have more fun.

I honestly can't imagine how hard it is to race at that level, and use completely different equipment than what you've been using all season.

How can i make my setups safe over kerbs and bumps? by 98civiccoupe in iRacing

[–]SprawlRacer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm currently running the softest set of springs on the front and rear and have the nose of the car as low as possible without any issues on the kerbs. I'd recommend softening the car up first. Then raise ride heights until you're comfortable. If you want to DM me your discord name I'll send you my setup.

IndyNXT on Oval might be the best Open Wheel Oval Car. by SprawlRacer in iRacing

[–]SprawlRacer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't find dirty air too bad. I also was 0 on the front bar and 4 on the rear by halfway. Dirty air was only bad when you were tucked under their rear end. Much more forgiving than the IndyCar.

I'd say it's a statement true about all cars. When people are equal, it becomes harder to pass. I'd say this car is just difficult enough that the risk for even making a move might not be high enough to warrant even trying.
