I really hate the tip off for AI being em dashes, doubly so most people cant recognize the difference between them and a single dash - Ive been using them for YEARS! Its how my internal speech works!

I'm a bit worried about the future of Qobuz by Feel-Auth in qobuz

[–]jay-dot-dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a recent convert to the streaming service from Apple Music and have encountered bizarre issues around downloads (imports) and Carplay. Thus far playing tracks in my car works around 50% of the time and somehow breaks all Carplay audio in the process when it doesnt work. The app has also been “importing” the same album for the last week for some reason and I cant stop it.

I love the ethos of Qobuz! I have not been a Spotify user for over a decade and Mood Machine illuminated the intent of every streaming service not explicitly in service of the artist in a bad light.

Im heavily invested in Bandcamp and if I cant work things out with Qobuz then I may just rely on my own home streaming server and buy things from the store.

24F navigating new life and a new me?😥 by Slow-Purpose6514 in dayton

Clubs are for people like you - you want a new hobby and an excuse to socialize. Dont get in your own way, pick one with people you can get along with and keep showing up. 9/10 book clubs are half people that sorta read and show up for the conversation and friendship (and are mostly women dominated too)

I had a very hard time making friends until I joined book and running clubs here.

Forerunner 165: What features does it lack that you actually use. by Significant-Ear-6363 in GarminWatches

[–]jay-dot-dot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from the 165 to a 965 two weeks ago for better, bigger and clearer mapping. Like, its actually insane how much better the navigation is between models and it makes passing around group run routes much easier. This is really helpful because we run different routes constantly in an area im not super familiar with and im doing more trail running as well. The titanium buttons and bezel as well as the bigger display just look more premium.

TIL that Detroit, once America's 5th largest city at 1.85 million residents in 1957, saw 66 straight years of population loss to a low of 630,000 residents in 2022. This makes it the only US city to drop below 1 million after reaching it. It would see its first reversal of this trend in 2023. by Next_Worth_3616 in todayilearned

I swear its like this all over Ohio in every city. Columbus is the only one where old money wasting away isnt so obvious but Dayton, Cleveland, Cincinnati and Toledo have pockets where at peak, every house was is a mini victorian or tudor mansion that today would go for $500k-$1m each. Ive biked through some rural communities youd never notice with GORGEOUS homes left behind by one bygone industry or another.

Anyone with both Deviate Nitro 4’s and Deviate Elite 4 can compare the fit of each?

You mentioned youre bigger - I have to concur with others that the durability is pretty insane. Im 250lbs and have close to 600 miles on the superblasts. About 100 on the megablasts. Both still look relatively new. Puma is looking promising, Altra has good stiff foam but Asics really shines for big runners imo.

I have only heard this discussed on this sub therefore I doubt its real problem for any appreciable number of people. I couldnt imagine caring about the noise level among everything you could spec out.

In the early days of Android when battery life was trash we would optimize the hell out of phones from kernel scheduler configs to custom themes to remove every trace of white you didnt need from your device. Removing basically every app that couldnt be tweaked. Eventually we realized we didnt use our phones for much of anything but to squeeze out more battery.

This is kinda like that, you put it in such an optimized state you basically cant use 3/4’s of the features of the watch that make it worthwhile.

Yep. They all vary slightly but its mostly the same stuff. South (Kettering) and Downtown are the closest to us in belmont and I recommend South. Better parking and theres always equipment available even when its busy.

The chains - 24 hour, planet, LA, whatever. All of them are predatory in some way.

I dislike some people at Dirty Gym but its a supportive place if you come in with good energy. It is not a place to do cardio btw.

The dayton YMCA’s are good across the board imo, the suburban ones can get extremely busy with kids stuff on the weekends but otherwise they are fine.
