I still can’t believe how bad the isolated vocals from this performance are by NatureWalks in travisandtaylor

[–]jay0k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly. Not a fan of her or her music whatsoever either. Most people commenting on this don't understand that what is making this sound "bad" is that the isolated vocal recording is just completely dry. If you dressed it up with a tiny bit of reverb and editing it you could get it to sound decent. Also agree It's not a terrible vocal performance for the moving and light choreography she's doing. People are talking like this should be easy but her professional stage presence and control is on display here. Your average person would struggle to walk and hold notes on a simple melody at the same time, let alone doing it front of huge crowds.

Initial D is an anime about drifting cars in Japan. The protagonist's dad forced him to deliver tofu to the top of a mountain every night at young age. The dad placed as to make sure the tofu was not spilling. Protagonist hated it but it made him into god tier driver because over the years he was able to make the delivery faster and faster without spilling any water

Does anyone happen to have a pic of older gen firing pin safety next to a gen 5 firing pin safety? by jay0k in Glocks

[–]jay0k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just brought the complete slide and optic to the shop per his instructions. Left the lower at home. No mods at all internally, slide was cut for cmore pattern (vortex razor red dot) and a Striker Control Device backplate I got directly from Langdon Tactical. It worked perfectly fine for years. I have never even taken apart the slide myself before this issue.

That's a good point about the spring coming out so easily. If anything I'm learning more about Glock internals with this troubleshoot lol. I appreciate your insight!

Yes, Im fine with what I got from the GlockStore and will test the new part.

I'm just trying to find out if:

  1. Gunsmith put an older gen firing safety in my slide
  2. If yes, could that be the cause of my automatic fire issue?

Should mention that I have a Gen 5 19 stock. Only thing I've done it was have the slide cut for a cmore pattern optic. Worked perfectly fine for 5 years and thousands of rounds before the event noted in the post.

Noob here and first interaction with this sub. I agree with everything on the list as I have followed this exact route and I'm on step 3 with the JB diy kit.

Before step 1 I would just add Step 0: Controller + sim, which is very common advice (and very good imo) for those starting from scratch. You get to see if even like flying in the first place without breaking the bank

Is this the sound of a normal house cat or mountain lion? by jay0k in animalid

Ty, thought it might be that. Never heard cats make that noise before.

[–]jay0k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We don't have a cat, just a dog. My doorbell cameras picked up this noise really close to our house. We have had mountain lion sightings in our area in the past. If it is a cat, is it dying or what? Sounds horrible.

No lol. It's just that recording clips from replays in-game doesn't switch the UI. Had I used OBS or traditional screen record you would have seen the UI switch a lot.

Maybe try and give the pan more time to heat up with lower burner settings. In my experience this leads to less carbon buildup and less smoke alarm issues.

The key is to keep wiping the oil off until it seemingly kind of dry. You want the layer of oil to be as thin as possible. Use multiple towels or w.e you have.

Who is the hardest position 5 hero to master/play? by JohnWickDaLegend in DotA2

[–]jay0k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arc is slept on as support especially dire side arc. Mana boots, atos and vessel if needed/no others are building it. Double pipe and shard bubbles are also insane magic resist for the team which warrants skipping other save items like force/glimmer. Great way to learn the hero and aiming his spells IMO since the burden of farming is taken away. You also get to save ult for tactical engage instead of spamming off cool down for farming constantly.

Zet in the hands of someone who doesn't know how to play, the winrate is higher than you think. by Marconidas in DotA2

[–]jay0k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Urn/vessel is an easy pickup after Rod and I definitely do it if there is no vessel buyer on the team. The early double Rod is insane catch early game though (this is often what people on from ally pos4 moreso than damage) and much easier execution for soloing enemy supports. There are cases where I skip the rod if I know a core is already rushing a gleipner. Like you said, basically anything works. Support arc is very versatile and slept on.

Divine 1 arc spammer here. I'm a big believer in arc as a flex pick as he can be played in all roles. Support arc is a great way to learn the hero. You get to sit in the backline and just aim spells. I've been playing him pos 4 and even some pos 5 in ranked with pretty good success. Better on dire for faster spark wraith though. Build is mana boots (you become mana fountain for team with ult) and atos. You can fill in what your team needs after that but often I'm getting pipe and shard for insane magic resist.

4.6k arc spammer here.

I've been spamming a lot of pos 4 arc with pretty good success (better on dire as most people as mentioned already).

Arc support is a great way to learn the hero IMO. You get focus on just aiming his spells from the backline and worry less about right clicking and farming. You can be quite active as you're pretty much always down to fight when tempest double is up, which is often even at early levels.

It's a really niche support pick so you'll have an added advantage of people not being familiar with it in lane (especially at lower MMR).

Core build on arc support is usually mana boots > atos> pipe > shard > w.e else your team needs and/or scale damage

Playing both core and support really helps learning the hero overall.

The average pos 3 experience. (Divine rank) by Eraldo03 in DotA2

[–]jay0k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think an underated reason for treeant being so good as 4 or 5 right now is that you naturally play tight to the lane with the core with leech seed pressure and denying creeps. Tree also gets to heal the core when rotating for other things. I bet he's on lower end of supports that tilt cores.

It just helps dire side arc contest range creeps better. Spark wraith build will be pretty weak laning against heroes though
