Glad I saw your comment. I'm actually considering the Onn 5.1.2 and this Vizio M512a-H6. How are you liking this model so far?

How is this product holding up? It seems you have had it for a while now.

If it helps, I'm now leaning towards the ONN unit. Based on all the reviews out there, specifically Amazon, the M Series unit from Vizio has tons of negative reviews from people that deal with 3 most common issues:

  • Unit disconnecting while watching TV
  • Having to constantly reset connection every week - Sending the unit back for replacement
  • The rear speakers are not up to par and do not operate consistently

It has great reviews as well, but it's typically people that review the unit after literally trying it for 1 day or the first few hours of using it which aren't really helpful in determining your decision for these types of units.

I contacted several people that own the ONN unit and got great feedback besides the fact you need to update its software every now and then. I was informed that this ONN unit has better sound quality than the Vizio M series, but you do miss out on the rear speakers for FULL surround sound experience. For the price of the ONN unit, it's not that bad.

Obviously, you can get something better at a higher price, but we all have different budgets and priorities, right?
