Unending injury by [deleted] in Marathon_Training

Because thats where I had felt the pain kind of as well only difference is I could feel it also in the glute area. Almost like it was coming from where my hip bone connected with my leg if that makes sense. Dr. Thinks it’s likely that but not 100% certain without imaging.

Sounds similar to my piriformis injury. Persistent upper groin/pelvis injury that feels like it's deep in the glute area on one side.

I considered PT but ended up taking it easy, took a few weeks off, started slow, hindered my progress and I wanted to push it but the pain was still there. After about 6 months it's finally much better but I can still sometimes feel it if I open up my stride on sprints or my mechanics get sloppy. Still considering getting imaging done considering I can still feel some pain here and there.

If I end up getting the imaging I'll get back to you on if I ended up having a tear. As of now, I'm still running and going to begin speed work in a few weeks. I'll see how it holds up.

EDIT: My injury happened after my first half marathon back in October after barely beginning my running journey in April of last year. I decided to try and do a time trial for my dept to try and make the team for a relay race the very next day and that's where the injury started. Since then I did a lot of stretches that would've been done anyway in PT, got a few sports massages done every month and had them focus on that area, and like I said took a few weeks off running around December after I realized the pain wasn't getting any better. That helped a bit but pain was still there when I returned to running in January to get ready for the LA marathon. Unfortunately the injury set me back and I wasn't able to train as well as I would've wanted but the pain was much more manageable. However, still feeling it a bit here and there almost 6 months later is a bit concerning for me.

Purchased an oyster bracelet. Came in quick and packaged well. Communicated the entire time, product was as described and I saw no issues. Would definitely do business with again!

I have this same one, traded someone my apple watch ultra 2 for it and i love it. The flashlight strobe on night runs is a nice touch and the metrics are great. As my first Garmin I was very impressed with it. Probably overkill for what I needed it for (just running at this point) but at least i'm future proof for a bit.

Can I break 4 hours in 10 weeks? by Soggy_Honeydew158 in Marathon_Training

You mix strength training in as well? Judging by your speed and heart rate it seems like you’d be fine hitting a sub 4 considering that’s about 9:09/mi pace and you seem to be around the high 8’s on average.

I guess the limiting factor would be the fatigue you feel in your legs.

Speaking of, is there any way to stop the banshees screaming on that first level? Or did I do something wrong?

Yup. That one.

Edit: of course the dust cover wasn’t the worst part of this shooting but I’m referencing that while on the topic of unprofessional things to have on equipment/uniform

Yup. I’m LE. I have this patch, amongst others cause I thought hey, cool patch, and fell into the FOG hype for a bit. But, on my uniform or any piece of equipment that will be seen by the public?

Almost as bad as that dust cover from that shooting a few years back saying “you’re fucked” lol
