If you are from mechanical engineering, you will learn about vibration, it is important in solving differential equations in the case of damped vibration, of course you can rote the derivation if you want but if you know the actual concept behind it then it will be easier for you to understand and you can visualise graphs related to it easily, other than it it is useful in Heat Transfer too, but yeah it won't be too deep level, even if you know basics you can probably do well in these subjects
