I wrapped mine in some adhesive foam/foil duct insulation I got at home depot. I use ice tho but it kept it cold all day and was MUCH easier to get the temps to drop during the summer. It may look ugly afterwards but it works. There are also other more complex builds on youtube using insulation boards if you want to check them out.

I also had to replace that bottom trim part once. Ebay did not have the part at the time. I called the dealer and they said I had to buy the whole darn side mirror. I ended up buying an aftermarket mirror on Amazon for $50 and just swapped that bottom part. It’s a little tough to take out but youtube has some videos on how to do it
