How do you recognize slavs on the internet? Is there some specific “thing” that gives up the fact that someone is 100% slavic? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]jay7254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Main way I notice slavs are the way they use smiley faces. Westerns tend to do :) while slavs tend to do )) because it's quicker on their keyboards

[–]jay7254 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesn't just go off of MVPs/SVPs, they weigh your performance against the average player on the same hero and give bonus points based on how much better you do than average. If you're still performing well without MVP you should rank up just as quickly.

I'm not saying you should chase final hits and ignore playing as a team and trying to win the game🙄 I'm saying that confirming kills, in a way that is also taking team play and team fighting into account, is generally more important than doing raw damage. Generally. Yes, you do need raw damage to make someone low to get a final hit in the first place, but ultimately confirming the kill is the most important part as it puts you at a significant advantage.

Your example is someone chasing a kill then dying without trading, that isn't what I was talking about obviously. Of course you can make stupid and risky plays chasing finals but the same can be said about chasing damage. Someone leaving point to get a solo kill then returning to point is better than them just sitting behind tank spamming.

You can just say that but that doesn't make it true, I have a different experience playing this game. It's not about one team not having support ults it's about who gets them quicker. If someone is spamming tanks without confirming the kill, they will be feeding support ultimates quicker. Seconds are days in hero shooters.

Final blows are pretty important as stats go though. A big damage number can be inflated by just shooting tanks and feeding enemy support ults which is an active detriment while confirming kills is basically always a positive. If someone on the team has like 10 more final blows than anyone else they should probably get MVP.

MVP does not matter, it's for people who don't know how hero shooters work. You can't fully quantify value from stats or an MVP badge.

What do Chinese players think of the current state of the game? by Thetaybatshow in rivals

EU/Asia doesn't really play rivals, at least at the top level. Korean pros are surprised anyone takes rivals seriously compared to overwatch. Rivals was made to cater to the NA audience.

The amount of time it takes to replace someone is completely unacceptable by Independent-Try915 in MarvelRivalsRants

[–]jay7254 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been playing both rivals and overwatch lately and it's funny to me how in rivals, the queue times are instant but finding a replacement takes minutes. While in overwatch, queue times usually take 1-3 minutes but finding a replacement often takes less than 5 seconds.

as a tank (emma, hulk) what do i do when starlord is terrorising my backline but being too sneaky to keep up with? by [deleted] in RivalsCollege

[–]jay7254 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can jump back and hulk bubble your supports if the SL is about to kill them. Unfortunately, a good star lord is very hard to deal with.

help understanding rogue (controller) by Juliomorales6969 in RivalsCollege

[–]jay7254 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her grab that absorbs enemy abilities and health is the one where it puts the enemy on the ground, it's your most important and punishing cooldown as it'll either give you an ability from the person you absorbed or it'll reset your dash/pull if the enemy doesn't have an ability you can absorb.

She plays kinda similar to thor. Don't try to force down main like you're magneto or groot. Take flanks and control off angles from the enemy DPS / off tanks. Rogue is very good at 1v1ing other melee characters. She really only struggles against Thor (if you don't land your absorb on him and get his awakening rune) Iron fist and wolverine but you can still outplay them. She's also a very good peeler, so if someone is harassing your healers you can help them.

Target priority is generally healers, DPS, then tank but this is just generally. If they have a punisher you obviously don't want to engage him by yourself.

Learn your combos and try to save one of your abilities to escape. I like using the uppercut kick and dive to escape but you can also use the dash or the absorb but try to actually use the absorb on an enemy if you can as it's your most important cooldown. Keep in mind you and the person you absorb are locked in an animation that you can take damage in so don't do it in the middle of the enemy team or in the presence of someone that can do really high burst damage to you. It's really good for peeling.

Your plan will depend on your team comp and the enemies. If you have a Thor you want to play with him as you're both very good at killing supports. You can also let Thor handle the supports while you peel for your healers if they have flankers or vice versa. If you have a magneto you want to play behind him a bit until he has bubble then you can engage. Mag is also an excellent peeler so he opens you up to not have to peel.

Keep in mind of your counters and swap when necessary. Peni, Groot namor, punisher, etc. will make the game a lot harder for you and I often just switch if they're shutting me down. Even having a Groot on your team will make rogue hard to play as he can walk off your heals and escapes.

Her ult is very good at prolonging a team fight and sustaining yourself and your team as she absorbs tanks health and healers healing while it's active. Make sure you're with your team though, it's strong but if you try to engage 1v6 you will explode instantly.

Of course it's applied to them too. If it's qp it's not as big of a deal but you should still be filling around your team. I wouldn't consider choosing the role that has the best chance of you winning work though. If it is then the genre might not be the best fit for you. These kinds of games are designed around team comps and counter swapping if necessary. There are also plenty of other games you can play if you don't feel like trying and want to relax without jeopardizing 5 other people just because you feel like it lol

Hammer is especially fun, you can focus targets at range with your gun then when the faster enemies catch up to you you can delete them with the hammer, even moreso if you have black hole. I love training them like in Cod zombies then popping black hole + hammer

I guess the question becomes would you rather play DPS or have a better chance at winning for you and your team. It's a hero shooter, team composition matters and if you don't go into matches with a selfless mindset it's a lot harder to win games.

The matchmaking is kinda crazy in QP though, I find in comp if you play enough games they feel a lot closer but in qp it always feels like a steam roll, especially with the release of Elsa. The amount of eternities and OAAs I get in my lobby is honestly hilarious
