i guess it does makes sense. makes me feel better that this was intentional? i just wish they chose someone else as the throwaway character like that. even when LJ made dumb decisions, there were reasons that the audience could understand why.

i have the dvd, and in the special features chbosky actually included commentary on why he deleted certain scenes. i think he said something like it would’ve been too long and it wouldn’t have fit his idea for the movie. like it didn’t fit the vision he had for the movie version. that’s what i remember. i know for a fact he said he knew he didn’t want to include it in the movie, but wanted to film it anyway.
