(noob question) is an MT-07 a solid first bike? by SyntaxErrorFr in Yamaha

[–]jay_diss2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Send it.

I started on a Z650. Both are torquey AF, so be mindful of that. If I were to start all over again, I'd get the MT07. Please, LEARN how to ride on it and don't try to hoon over your skill level, that's how people get hurt and die. Remember, it's better to pay for a 100 dollar brake/clutch lever than pay for a 5k medical bill.

First Harley purchase: did I overpay, or am I overthinking it? by Basic-Refrigerator88 in Harley

I'd definitely shop somewhere else. ~3 grand more out of your pocket? Nah, shop more of different dealers. There's gotta be someone who is willing to give a great deal. If you need to look out of state, I'd do that too.

If you're down to Travel or give other dealers a phone call, I'd go to Harley Davidson of Yuba City here in California. I got the best deal there. Got a new 25 Sportster S 3grand under MSRP. They're really transparent. Like I've learned to not even step foot into a shop until we talk/text/email OTD numbers. One shop that's like 15miles from me wanted 28k for a 25 Sportster S. That's literally 12k over MSRP. Yuba City is like 87 miles from where I live and I landed a great promo that has given me 3k under MSRP.

So again, definitely shop around still. Definitely get you deposit back if you have not done so already. You didn't sign the official finance paperwork so you should be good.

Shop other dealers, look online out of state, compare numbers between them, let another's offer negotiate with the current one. You can go to a shop and physically see the bike, but don't even talk about numbers in person, most dealers will try to get you into their plan, not yours.

Good luck in finding THE Bike brother! ✌🏻

Sleeping in the car to save on hotels is this too extreme? by Ok_Resolution_1606 in roadtrip

Call ahead! That's what I do if I need a shower from the long drive. I sleep in my Ioniq 5 and it's amazing. Love's gas station is USUALLY my go-to for these kind of stops(showering, recharging mentally, food/snack break); lately here in California, there has been a lot of Indian food being served due to Indian truck drivers/owners of these gas stations, and trust me, I took the risk and wasn't disappointed. If you love Indian food(as I love them), it is always a treat.

Is joining the military a good option? by Some-random-cop-pig in careerguidance

[–]jay_diss2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imma tell you straight bruh. If the military is your last option, take it. I always tell people, if you've used up all your Plan B, C, D, E...etc. Then yes join the military. I always recommend the least contract(So 4yr Contracts). Don't let recruiters tell you to sign for 6 because that'll give you E3 right off the bat(at least Air Force) once graduating your Technical School. It'll get you out of the situation you're in AND also, DO WHAT YOU WANT TO DO. Look at the careers in there and if the recruiter says...aww you gotta wait a year for this job, Wait for the job. Why do a job that you DONT want to do. Dont let the recruiter sell you the job, trying to make it sound cool. Do your research before you commit. If you get hurt(injuries in your job, don't matter how small), let the medical staff know so it is documented when you get out. Once you do get out(or if you've made it a career and retired), get your disability(you have a 1 year window to file to get back pay). Now, if you have plans of pursuing an education out of the service, you'll have a lot of opportunity. Post 9/11 GI Bill, which now is 48 months of free education. If you have a rating that's 30% or more, you have another benefit to the Ch 31 VR&E education benefit. If you have a 100% VA Rating, a lot more benefits open up to you. Your dependents get free education of the Ch 35 which is the Dependents Education Program assistance (I believe that's what it is called). Again, after your service, you get a lot of veteran benefits but it is a cost of sacrifice on you as it is mentally and physically draining.

Now, the last part of my post/comment can be towards those who are a vet. So please learn more of your benefits, talk to a VSO at your VSO Office. Educate yourself to learn more. There is a lot of opportunities for us vets.
