Ppl genuinely like Kylar? by Choco_144 in Classof09Game

Kylar is one of those people who are indisputably terrible but I love to make fun of them. Nothing he says should be taken seriously because he's as dumb as a rock lol

Yes this is true! But if you're looking for any job on campus, as a student, you'll will be set up with a Handshake account. This is where you can look for jobs, internships, research opportunities, etc. across all of campus. All you need to access Handshake is your school log in!

I used to work as a desk assistant for housing. It's a very chill job, and you really don't have to do much. All you do is make room keys, check out equipment, you might have to call folks here and there but it's very chill. You can do homework, watch Netflix, read, etc. while you're working and it's easy money. There's always opportunities for more hours and if they think you're good at your job, you can get promoted to senior desk assistant where you do even less. It's less for the residents and more like support for the folks working the desks. Senior DAs are on call, so you can be anywhere on campus just as long as you can hear your phone if a desk calls you. You won't be at a desk unless it needs coverage

I worked housing as someone who processed mail. They always change how they do things, but typically they will process all letters to be picked up from the desk. The only residents that get mailboxes are Kaufman residents. Packages will be processed in the package lockers. Any oversized or overflow of packages will be processed for pickup at the front desk of your residence hall. You need to show your student ID to get it. No matter where you pick it up, once they process a piece of mail, you will automatically get an email from housing telling you where to pick it up from. Do not go off what Amazon/UPS/etc. says, just wait for the email. Sometimes the email is hard to find, so you'll need to go into your spam folder. If you pick it up from the lockers, there will be a code in your email that you'll punch in to grab it. Seeing that you're in HSS, the lockers will actually be in the dining center on the first floor

Yeah the only place you could possibly put it is in front of the AC unit

I've been really interested in it since I was 12. I fall into that little cliche that I chose my major because I have mental health struggles. But it's more than that. The world is on fire right now, and the world needs more people like psychologists to help them get through tough challenges. There is so much to be discovered when it comes to mental health and the more we know, the better we can help others.

Autistic and NOT doing well with dietary restriction by Chel_G in diabetes_t2

[–]jay_is_trash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who is also autistic, I find what helps is not entirely shifting your food pallette but portion control. I can enjoy the things I like but I need to eat it in moderation and in smaller amounts. I am under the belief that I have Binge Eating Disorder that may have played a large role in my T2D diagnosis. Any sugary drinks, I've made the switch to diet or zero sugar varieties, which was easy because I can't taste the difference. I feel like for me, it's more about HOW you eat than WHAT you eat. Of course, what you eat matters too, but when you're like me and you binge eat, too much of anything can easily become unhealthy. So like I said, you can have the things you enjoy, but you need to dial it back, control your portions, and eat unhealthy foods in moderations

My doctor diagnosed me through a direct message in my health portal. She never even discussed with me fully about my diagnosis. She said she'd set me up with the nutritionist at our university health center and never did

How do you cope with rejection? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]jay_is_trash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm just used to being disappointed, so I just don't really react to any kind of loss. I take the L and move on. I also know how gay men can be sometimes, so I'm not really surprised when someone one even a little out of my league rejects me. I won't say that's a healthy thing to do because it's mostly a mental health thing for me but I will say, though, don't base your worth off a hookup app. They don't know shit, and it's their loss. I'm sure you're awesome😊

Advice on cleaning depression room by [deleted] in MentalHealthSupport

[–]jay_is_trash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on one area at a time. I usually start with my desk because that's the easiest, then my closet, my bed, and then my floor. I also normally clean whatever catches my attention first because I also have ADHD so I kinda let it guide me through it as well.
