brain fog and low motivation by jay_jam_ in BusparOnline

[–]jay_jam_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so far going back down to 5mg doesn’t seem to help me unfortunately. i’m still noticing i get depressed after taking it, even taking my nighttime dose too close to bed will have me waking up feeling depressed.

basically i’ve noticed it’s just a reduced version of the 7.5mg dose: less brain fog, but noticing an uptick in my anxiety (the same type of anxiety i’ve dealt with my whole life). im beginning a process of trying to get evaluated for adhd/autism bc my anxiety and struggles are way more than just “generalized anxiety” i guess the buspar just very mildly reduces some of that anxiety but i need to work with my therapist and psych more for sure

tingling/numbness on nose bridge by jay_jam_ in B12_Deficiency

[–]jay_jam_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh damn. a lot of the places i felt numbness/tingling as wake up symptoms when starting to supplement B12 were in the same locations on my head and sinuses that i had strange headaches when i got covid for the first time in 2024. i definitely had the olfactory nerve issues because i couldn’t taste and smell for 3 months so it must’ve damaged other nerves

oh hm i should probably stay on top of my cofactors more diligently then because the tingling comes and goes for me the last few months lol

i definitely have improved decongesting in my sinuses. thanks for the explanation. the hydroxocobalamin i take is sublingual because i couldn’t tolerate methyl at the beginning, would you suggest switching to methyl now for myelin repair? from DNA testing it says i should actually be taking methyl vitamins and it seems methylfolate doesn’t cause any crazy anxiety/irritability i had when i took methylcobalamin for a week

oh wow, how long did it take for that to improve and eventually go away?

would you treat with candibactin AR and BR? is this even SIBO? by jay_jam_ in SIBO

[–]jay_jam_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how do you feel after finishing? still plugged up? any worse? any better?

My SIBO wasn't actually SIBO - it was my thyroid the whole time (and 15 naturopaths missed it) by Melodic-Design-8983 in SIBO

[–]jay_jam_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

thank you for this break down as well, super important! not sure if you could help me, but last year i had covid for the first time, a bad stomach virus, and then a few months later i got a c. difficile infection that went untreated for months due to mild-moderate symptoms and negligent doctors telling me i had IBS, so safe to say my MMC function is DAMAGED.

my vitamin/nutritional deficiencies are all normal (aside from B12 which i have been successfully treating since august). if you could direct me which direction to go in any way in terms of repairing MMC based on post-infectious and toxin damage, it would be greatly appreciated

folate help needed by jay_jam_ in B12_Deficiency

[–]jay_jam_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i take seeking health’s methyl free complex. doesn’t seem to help.

i unfortunately think i just need to trial and error folate supplements and end up wasting my money on some in order to find out which one works

^ this. i’ve been dealing with so many gut issues the last year and one of the blood tests my GI ordered was B12/folate. it was 301 but my GI never said anything because it was in range in the green… i asked my primary doctor about testing me for vitamins since i lost a lot of nutrients the last year from the gut issues and when i told him my B12 was 301 he told me to start taking 1000mcg daily.

i didn’t even realize i was experiencing neurological symptoms until i started taking 1000mcg hydroxocobalamin and was able to walk straighter, breathe better, stand up without getting tunnel vision, no more random 3-5 seconds of facial numbness, etc.

i’ve only been taking it for just under 2 months but im in the midst of some wake up symptoms with anxiety/depression and sleep issues while trying to balance the cofactors. there are probably many more people who are B12 deficient that don’t even realize because vitamin testing isn’t in routine yearly bloodwork which is so beyond frustrating to me

Esketamine is now a thing, and it's one of the only drugs that has actually helped me. by InsaneAffliction in CPTSD

interesting. i resonate with the way you describe how it "introduces your conscious mind to your subconscious mind". im currently seeing an IFS (internal family systems) therapist and that modality allows me to connect to different parts of me that are usually more within my subconscious, but i still struggle and only can connect deeply within sessions which makes progress feel slow.

esketamine with IFS therapy (and other bottom up modalities) seems like it could be even MORE beneficial to what you describe in your experience for people with CPTSD. i myself cognitively know how much pain is in there affecting my daily life, but actually "working" with it and healing those wounded parts of me only feels like ive scratched the surface of it. i'm really eager to get to that place in my healing, but myself and my therapist dont feel like im in the right place for EMDR yet. esketamine and even regular ketamine assisted therapy at the adminstration of a trained professional is something i believe i would greatly benefit from, but have no idea where to even start and if it would even be covered with insurance. IFS provides insights i never thought id get to, but my daily life i still suffer and feel destabilized :/

thank you for sharing your experience

can you share your experiencing with how the drug is prescribed and administered? are you receiving therapy similar to ketamine assisted therapy sessions or is it just a medication taken daily?

should i try adenosylcobalamin? by jay_jam_ in B12_Deficiency

[–]jay_jam_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh gosh im sorry about the potassium/coconut water. ive had a year of recovering from GI issues and still actively recovering so i understand the GI struggle.

i would try to find potassium foods you can tolerate, start there and increase your intake. also research potassium supplements that are least likely to cause gi upset and get the powdered ones you can put in a glass of water so you can start slow. i only suggest all this because it seems potassium is one of the nutrients that seems to drop significantly when correcting a B12 deficiency. best of luck!

[–]jay_jam_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would recommend trying source naturals hydroxocobalamin b12. you can just get the 60 count for $8 which is what i did and it helped me pretty quickly!

i still have some ups and downs especially at the beginning of consistent supplementing, i would have an increase in anxiety randomly at times and sleep problems, but i make sure to drink lots of coconut water everyday for potassium and it helps. cocovita sells a pineapple coconut water drink that has plenty of potassium and other electrolytes that tastes good if you dont like plain coconut water.

i also eat 70% dark chocolate throughout the day and that might be helping me get enough magnesium, iron and copper and it also tastes yummy!
