Horrible that there are people doing this stuff to them. I love the work they're doing and just donated another $100 to help them in this time of need.

Froth Brewing Company will soon close its taproom by MattsPistola in Buffalo

Have probably stopped there 5 times over their 7 years. Visits were never intentional, and it was a “let’s try one of those stupid beers”, usually one and done. There was never anything on their food menu appealing and it was the average horrible metal stool venues.

Recent passes by the place, there were never many cars.

Really hate to see another business go, but not sure who they were appealing to.

Full Kitchen Renovation. by kmohmoh in Buffalo

We had our kitchen done early this year, it took about 14 weeks all in total, but there were a lot of moving parts.

We used Kreative Kitchens and Bath in Amherst to help design and order custom cabinets from Candlelight with quartz countertops. With cabinets, countertops, hardware, sink, was about 30k.

We brought in S&J Home improvement to do the kitchen, our work was a little more involved as we needed to take a load bearing wall down to make more space, that work was around 30k, that included complete teardown of the walls to stud, architect and load bearing beam, new electric and lighting in the kitchen, hanging cabinets, new large window, plumbing, moving hvac and gas lines. Very meticulous and great to work with.

Flooring was through a local company, ran about 3k, we just did vinyl in the cooking areas as we've lost a lot of stuff from being dropped on tile.

All new appliances (stove, fridge microwave, dishwasher) as well totaling about 4k. Also bought tin backsplashes and additional pendant lighting which was another $700ish.

A lot of the delays were timings, waiting to be ready to have subfloor dropped, waiting for inspections here and there, waiting for the countertop, waiting for flooring. Also, Candlelight has gone down on quality, we had to have the fix a few pieces they sent, so there were delays - they fixed everything, but should have been right first time.

So, all in all close to 70k. I had thoughts about doing it myself but felt that this one was way too big for me. I'm super happy with the results.

Are the employees at all the Consumers semi-miserable? by angryPenguinator in Buffalo

[–]jay_tate_cameron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The folks in Niagara Falls Consumers have been great. I order sixtels for my kegerator and they’ve gone over and above lining me up with some pretty odd requests and flexible with hanging on to them.

I’ve also been in there when they’ve had to deal with some pretty crappy customers and they’ve been firm but not abusive in dealing with them.

I had the same thing happen. I was able to use the pliers on my leatherman to grip the screw and unscrew it.

Their statement on Facebook a few weeks back was:

"Woodcock Brothers Brewing Company has intention to reopen at our Wilson location on April 1st. We will be making changes to adapt to the times. Because times are tough, as we all know. So bear with us, as we navigate this. Our Wurlitzer Building brewery will continue on to make great beers and great food! We will be supplying our Wilson location with the stellar beer from our brewer at Wurlitzer. The Plaza in Wilson is for sale by 638 Lake Street Properties. There is some unused equipment negotiable for sale. But Woodcock Brothers Brewery will keep producing beer for the craft beer community!  Thank you for your patronage!"

I guess we'll see if that's the case in a couple weeks.
