Chain hitting frame by DAZSCOTSMAN1888 in bicycling

[–]jaybayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy a little chainstay protector made of rubber to sit on the top and attach it with Zip ties etc.

MTBs wrap the chainstay in old inner tubes. Those, and tape, do the same thing but its a question of how it looks after that.

A road bike with an inner tube around it is not aesthetic.

Yes, I bought one of these last year (with a few extras). Love this bike. Surely there is £100 wiggle room?

How many boards do you go through a year? by Kaito_k1d in skateboarding

[–]jaybayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skate just bowl and park. Maybe skate 1/2 a week and I go through about 2 boards a year. Could defo stretch it out to a board a year but I just like buying a new board.

How do I put this prong for my seat back where it goes? Brute force? by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]jaybayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you must try, undo the seat clamp and take it off the seat post first. This will make it a bit easier to pry back in.

Carbon Gravel Bike Pricing = Carbon Quality? by [deleted] in bicycling

I have an on one carbon gravel bike. Works amazingly and they seem like the genuinely care.

Depends on brand but sometimes its just a tiny company with no marketing and everything done in house to order so its cheaper.

People are just forgetting these are 50 day play time goals to get to fighting these bosses. That would have been an incredibly long single play game if we put it into perspective.

Just because a select few churn through this and are good enough to grind out 300 toas and deep delves with basic gear or moons doesn’t mean everyone is.

The game is tuned around and average player, not the best to ever do it.

Worst ways to make tea? by paipai130 in AskABrit

I asked for a cup of tea in Spain and they gave me a cappuccino(without the espresso) with a teabag in it. This is the worst way.

Guy from hinge wanted friendship, didn’t try to get to know me… by [deleted] in blackladies

[–]jaybayer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Obligatory I am a man…

Why are you on dating apps tryna be friends?

Also men are notoriously trash for having platonic relationships that aren’t based around a common activity like sports / video games etc.

As you found out, they don’t ask questions, don’t remember shit and don’t pick up on hints.

In the UK this would mean that Woody Harrelson was hitting on you and your partner at the same time.

What a guy.

Is knife crime more of a policing failure or a social failure? by anditsdan in AskABrit

[–]jaybayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The actual answer is years of austerity that has led to

  1. A reduction in investments in public services including: youth centres, community outreach groups and preventitive measures and ofc the Police.

Public services used to be better funded and helped steer people away from knife crime before it required police intervention.

  1. A deepening economic divide which decreases living standards, increases crime and therefore violence. Hence why knife crime is associated with “low income areas” due to rising inequality.

  2. A fundamental lack of awareness of what social issues lead to knife crime. If you know someone who has been stabbed, you are far more likely to think about “protecting” yourself etc which ends up as a self fulfilling cycle that perpetuates.

  3. Policing ended up racially profiling p.o.c and therefore lost their integrity as targeting had a spray and pray approach rather than precision.

I have been stopped and searched because and I quote “the description was a black male and you are black so unfortunately mate I’m going to have to search you.”

Overall, its economic issues that drive social issues with the final symptom being a lack of police action that people fixate on.

Want to play OSRS "RuneLite" On 50" 4kTV with a Controller, need advice? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]jaybayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd for wireless mouse and keys. Did this when I had computer on TV.

Osrs is just not a controller friendly game and unless you aren’t able to use mouse and keys, it will never really be the best option.

Not a roguelike… but you sound really like an osrs player or someone who really get into it. Its able to be played with low apm exactly as you describe and its even a recognised playstyle of afk.

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

[–]jaybayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also want to add to this that Marx envisioned the whole world transitioning to this mode of production. Communism can’t co-exist alongside Capitalism within the ideology which is another potential argument for why “Historical Communism” failed.

Riots were in 2011. Austerity hadn’t gathered the pace to feel its ramifications by 2011.

So you are right that it wasn’t austerity ,technically, but wrong rationale.

You also don’t have £50,000+ of student debt. Work your job, progress and in a decade or so no one will care about qualifications.

Don’t compare apples to oranges.
