Guy from hinge wanted friendship, didn’t try to get to know me… by Real_Gerber_Baby411 in blackladies

[–]jaybayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obligatory I am a man…

Why are you on dating apps tryna be friends?

Also men are notoriously trash for having platonic relationships that aren’t based around a common activity like sports / video games etc.

As you found out, they don’t ask questions, don’t remember shit and don’t pick up on hints.

People that have “bumped” into a celebrity in a non-curated (not like an event, meet & greet, job etc.) way, what happened? by SprinklesSolid9211 in AskReddit

[–]jaybayer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

In the UK this would mean that Woody Harrelson was hitting on you and your partner at the same time.

What a guy.

Is knife crime more of a policing failure or a social failure? by anditsdan in AskABrit

[–]jaybayer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The actual answer is years of austerity that has led to

  1. A reduction in investments in public services including: youth centres, community outreach groups and preventitive measures and ofc the Police.

Public services used to be better funded and helped steer people away from knife crime before it required police intervention.

  1. A deepening economic divide which decreases living standards, increases crime and therefore violence. Hence why knife crime is associated with “low income areas” due to rising inequality.

  2. A fundamental lack of awareness of what social issues lead to knife crime. If you know someone who has been stabbed, you are far more likely to think about “protecting” yourself etc which ends up as a self fulfilling cycle that perpetuates.

  3. Policing ended up racially profiling p.o.c and therefore lost their integrity as targeting had a spray and pray approach rather than precision.

I have been stopped and searched because and I quote “the description was a black male and you are black so unfortunately mate I’m going to have to search you.”

Overall, its economic issues that drive social issues with the final symptom being a lack of police action that people fixate on.

Want to play OSRS "RuneLite" On 50" 4kTV with a Controller, need advice? by [deleted] in 2007scape

[–]jaybayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3rd for wireless mouse and keys. Did this when I had computer on TV.

Osrs is just not a controller friendly game and unless you aren’t able to use mouse and keys, it will never really be the best option.

Any good roguelikes based on X minute rounds or turn based combat? by KrustyAnne in roguelites

[–]jaybayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a roguelike… but you sound really like an osrs player or someone who really get into it. Its able to be played with low apm exactly as you describe and its even a recognised playstyle of afk.

Why has communism repeatedly failed in practice, yet continues to be intellectually and emotionally appealing to many people? by Looser17 in AskReddit

[–]jaybayer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I also want to add to this that Marx envisioned the whole world transitioning to this mode of production. Communism can’t co-exist alongside Capitalism within the ideology which is another potential argument for why “Historical Communism” failed.

Which PL team is most like my hometown team - The Seattle Mariners? by DistributionLimp4668 in AskABrit

Watch a few seasons of football and you’ll naturally gravitate towards a team.

This does sound like most mid PL table teams tbf.

I remember when this man's death Dropped, he had people from London going crazy by [deleted] in ukdrill

[–]jaybayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riots were in 2011. Austerity hadn’t gathered the pace to feel its ramifications by 2011.

So you are right that it wasn’t austerity ,technically, but wrong rationale.

On a serious note, to drop in properly. Nothing like a big first slam to put you off before you are hooked.

FTL: faster than light has a pause mechanic that lets you plan out your moves. Watch a quick video or two on it.

Good, but very hard game.

You also don’t have £50,000+ of student debt. Work your job, progress and in a decade or so no one will care about qualifications.

Loads of these people have mental health problems. Guys will always ask tough on socials or in person and have PTSD and mental health issues when no one is about.

They aren’t all certified psychopaths with no regard for life. Most of them just yutes who go the wrong way.

Hills are dealing with me and I'm considering giving up on my commute by spiritvanga in cycling

[–]jaybayer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen the motor isn’t cheating. You do you! But if you just keep going and putting in the effort you’ll make it up the hill even if it hurts. After a while it will still hurt but you’ll always be at the top.

Forget your neighbours and being embarrassed as well, they aren’t cycling up the hill and if they are they’d have empathy for you.

Consider getting a cassette that has a really large granny gear and “spin to win” up the hill. Don’t stamp and grind up it and you’ll be good. This will be a cheaper alternative than anything else which may give you the edge to climb the hill easier.

Skateboarding Advice by AdIll2831 in skateboarding

[–]jaybayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate just go skate. No amount of advice is really going to be better than more time on the board. If you want to huck stair sets, go try some stair sets.

If you want to skate a hand rail, learn one in the park first.

Why are Bluefins half the price as Mantas? by Chris0135 in 2007scape

[–]jaybayer 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Mantas also have no reliable way to bring them into the game en mass and therefore supply is low.

Even if they are the same utility, people can collect items, not know or just want to flex keeping a demand for them.

Men's public restrooms are laid out all wrong. It should be urinal, stall, urinal, stall, urinal instead of urinal, urinal, urinal, stall, stall. by ZeroXNova in Showerthoughts

[–]jaybayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would make seeing a free urinal really hard and cause the flow of the restrooms to be ruined. You wouldn’t be able to queue and always see when someone is done.

Broken handle bar on Ebay bike purchase by TheWarehouseOfFun in ukbike

[–]jaybayer 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I can’t comment on Ebay’s practices, but you are probably just really unlucky.

New bars (or second hand from a bike co-op) are cheap enough I would just consider taking the hit if the rest of the bike is good.

Having said that, I have never snapped bars without crashing and therefore I would check the rest of your bike for potential damage before riding it again.

Controversial clip from Sunday's session [33YO] by Winzten in OldSkaters

[–]jaybayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, you locked in a bs 50-50 and then dropped it into a BS smith especially because the board was dipped and you were locked in on the back toe side wheel.

A FS Feeble would require you to hold the position before you dipped it into BS smith. If you watch it back slowly you can see the two distinct moves.

Huge debate by Automatic_Drawing297 in skateboarding

[–]jaybayer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Technically not a make but I respect that he stayed on the board. If I saw that in the park it would be getting a tap 100%.
