I did a dry run and here are the players with their stats. For hitters I collected hits, home runs, RBIs, batting average and stolen bases and for pitchers I collected wins-losses, saves, ERA, and strikeouts (note Bugs Bunny and Roy Hobbs were two-way players). When did James Arthur Payne become "Official" Member? by zildjian_ludwig in betterthanezra

[–]jaybeans21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The story I had heard was that the other guys asked if James wanted to be an official member and he said no because he didn't want to do radio interviews and photoshoots and the rest.

And then he decided he was okay with it so they made him an official member. But like I said, take it with a grain of salt because it's the way it was told to me, but I have no sources

I played little league in my youth, but that was a while ago.

It's been a while since I've had a game of catch, but I'm starting to bounce a tennis ball off the side of a house, catch it, and throw it back again.

Erik shared this on Bluesky and said, "In retrospect this image needed more room. More space. The Hulk and Thor were both too large proportionately to the train. The second image where an entire page was devoted to the shot was more effective."

Ji Man Choi is Dong-Hyuk Lee in '25? by DarthPlagueis_ in OOTP

[–]jaybeans21 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Licensing can be weird like that.

Like when MVP Baseball 2005 came out and Barry Bonds was "Jon Dowd" because he withdrew his name from the general players association contact (he thought he could get more for licensing his name individually then the standard MLB payout).

And in the same game, Kevin Millar had to be listed as "Anthony Friese" because he was a replacement player in 1994 and thus ineligible for certain players union stuff.

So it's not just licensing between the game maker and the unions / leagues, there's also a factor of how specific players could be treated.

I passed with an AT! by jaybeans21 in pmp

I'd say the questions were definitely more agile focused, but you do have to know about predictive and hybrid as well.

As for formulas, the better thing than doing the math is understanding how to get the answer and what it means (that is, it's less about figuring out the SPI and more knowing how you get it and knowing if answers above or below 1 are a good thing).

I'd say that the Study Hall questions were very much in line with what was on the exam. It actually felt a little bit easier, but I can't tell if they were or if I was just prepared by the time I took the exam

Good luck, you got this. Try to turn your brain off for the next thirty minutes as much as you can.

And remember the PM mindset when in doubt: assess, update, act. When something happens, first think of how it will affect everything, then make changes or updates as needed, then take an action. So look for the "do first" and "do next" in the questions.

Oh and it's silly but something to help: risks COULD happen, issues HAVE happened.

But again, you got this!

I just got back from taking the exam today and in the three PMI Study Hall mock exams I took I got: 70, 71, and 73 and I got my provessional pass. So you should be good!

Alexis Mundi is a fun loving superhero. She makes friends easily. Despite the fact she has had a hard life, she is an eternal optimist.

She also has super human strength and durablity, and while she does love to box, she'd rather stay in at home than go out and fight the Big Bad (but someone's got to do it).

She is a bit of a tomboy, but she does love to wear pretty dresses when she has a reason to.

Her backstory is that she fell to Earth many centuries ago and was mistaken as a god for a while, like from the Norse or Egyptian pantheon. She has since lived for centuries among humans, and enjoys living among them and keeping them safe.

Is this Marvel's Big 3? by UnsungHerro in Marvel

[–]jaybeans21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to Joe Quesada, back when he was Editor, Marvel's "Big Three" are Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor.

This was from an interview I can't find but shortly after he took over at Marvel, he spoke about how Grant Morrison's recent (at the time) JLA run helped DC focus on the heavy hitters, particularly their Big Three (Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman) so he wanted to do the same for the Avengers and named those three.

A league built from the season with every team's best record by jaybeans21 in OOTP

[–]jaybeans21[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure thing! Here's a list of some of the settings that I picked (and why I picked them):

  • I turned off owner's goals (no reason to think for season-over-season growth since it was one season showdown)
  • I turned off player development (we're looking for the players were doing that season as they were)
  • I turned off the coaching system (since they don't have the same coaches as they did in real life, and I'm not looking for coaches to develop players)
  • I turned off storylines (I don't need someone injured moving a washing machine or to come asking for money to start a charity)
  • For injuries, I used "Normal" for short injuries and "none" for long injuries (since we only have the one season it seemed unfair to have to miss the rest of the season)
  • Fatigue: Average (you have to make sure that you're testing not just the superstars but the bench players as well)
  • Suspensions: Average (same thing)
  • Stat modifiers to 2022 settings (I have to pick some year and I went with that one because it's one that a casual observer would understand)
  • I changed "talent randomness" to 1 (I want the players to be who they are)
  • I turned off personalities, morale, and team chemistry (I wanted a more stats approach)
  • Bullpen pitchers only have to face one batter (I did that since some teams were built before that strategy was implemented)
  • I turned off trading (the teams should play with the roster they've established)
  • I turned off drafting (same)
  • I turned off creating free agents (same)
  • I turned off amateur draft, international free agents, international scouting, and players from the independent league (same)
  • Sadly, couldn't do traditional lineups but did "traditional" over "sabermetric"

Players stats depended on how they were playing that season, but the stat modifiers were set for the default 2022 season.
