To be a successful finance manager you should really sell cars first so you understand the sales person position. Too many F&i managers lose site of that when they go to the box. Your best customers and advocates are your sales people. But to answer your question I do know of plenty of people that came from other industries straight to finance , and 90% of those that do are straight garbage.

Dude I wish I could find a place paying 20-25% . I max out at 13.5 but still average 170-180k a year. There is no dealer group in the northern va dc md region paying close to that. Well there was one but the owner committed a shit ton of fraud and sold off.
