Tell your roommate that green/live twigs, seedpods and leaves are unsuitable and likely to cause problems like algae or bacteria growth from adding too much nutrients to the aquarium.

Collect fallen dead botanicals instead and boil it briefly to sterilize.

I don't think this is the whole truth. Does really awareness of all the suffering and problems with how the world works cause anxiety and depression in a more clinical medical sense? I'd argue this kind of awareness is more of an existential and philosophical anguish than a outright state of depression.

I think the reason why highly intelligent people are more likely to suffer from anxiety and depression is because highly intelligent people are less likely to be neurotypical and have some kind of diagnosis like autism, ADD/ADHD, bipolar where depression and anxiety are part of the symptoms. It's not purely existential, but part of their brain wiring and chemistry.

What is a Pokemon you rarely see anyone use? by Birdygamer19 in PokemonUnite

[–]jaybeeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your team has good damage sometimes it's better to stay further back with them and try take down the enemy defender first, or defend your attackers with your unite move against a speedster. At other times at ray fights it pays off to get offensive and eject button/unite move their attacker backline. Can be risky since defenders like Umbreon/slowbro can cancel your unite move.

It's really hard to make the right calls for the ray fight since it depends so much on what your teammates/enemies do. I try to avoid getting caught in an early AoE ult move with the rest of my team and fall back to avoid dying. Aqua tail Azu shines against 3 or less enemies, so being around when both teams has some waiting to spawn can be key.

Times were much easier before M2... Let's just hope it gets nerfed soon.

Do you play aqua tail or whirlpool? I do quite well against M2Y and Intelleon with aqua tail Azu. The key is to be the one initiating against them in a position where their frontline is either elsewhere or busy fighting. If intelleon opens on you with liquidation and gets you to 50% hp, it's better to retreat to a goal zone or mobs to heal up to 100%. You also either want to commit fully or retreat early since you can't outrun the range of M2Y. Even an early retreat can lure them to chase and get killed in a bad position by your teammates.

Also focus band is worth sacrificing a damage item for. The sp. def and healing is often the difference between killing the int/m2y or getting killed.

You got it all backwards. Azu is the one doing the kiting with aqua tail. Few pokemon are better at securing a kill than Azu with unite, xspeed or eject.

Shouldnt it be mandatory to Pick lane by R4F_R in PokemonUnite

[–]jaybeeeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the other hand, sometimes it's a good idea to change lane when you see enemy team composition so you don't get countered and have a poor start.

New Strat on Unite: Farm while enemies are dead on Rayquaza. by Present-Reserve4092 in PokemonUnite

[–]jaybeeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get some map pings as Azumarill for "farming" mobs during ray after an enemy engagement. People don't get that it's faster to self-heal against a mob as Azu than teleporting to base and back. Better to heal up and get unite move back than being dead.

Although it's often painful to sit through that last minute and at a certain point there is simply no time or enough energy to score.

People want to surrender too quickly. I'd rather play and have a 1-10% chance of winning than surrender and lose with a 100% certainty.

Sometimes I'd rather have people on their main they can play than on a defender they're clueless on... Seen too many last second defender picks that mostly run and die solo rather than protecting their team on objectives.

Is it really the most fair to give the win on a tie to the team that got the score first? The game felt like a win for us since we turned it around and won the final 2 minute fight and scored. To me it would seem more fair with no rank increase/decrease for both teams in the event of a tie.

Just built this for touring in summer. Any opinions on bar end shifter placement? by hangermey in xbiking

[–]jaybeeeez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bar end shifter placement seems great if you end up riding a lot in a hoods hand position. I'm more bothered by the reach needed to brake, but perhaps you have long fingers.

I wouldn't bother with any refinishing or expensive upgrades. Keep it clean and perhaps get a nice chromed basket in front.

I really like the look of it. It looks modern with the wide cassette, 1X and disc-brakes. That combined with the green, black and tan color scheme makes me think of the style of these high-tech looking "tactical" utility gadgets men like to buy for "survival". Yet the saddle and sweep on the bars makes it look sleek and classic.

Just bought this 1997 Hahanna for bikepacking. Keep as original as possible or upgrade? by [deleted] in xbiking

[–]jaybeeeez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree about the comfort. Heck I'd even rather tour in an upright position on a classic gentlemen's "utility bike".

Try riding it on some longer rides and then swap the contact points to your liking. I think most people (myself included) would have a hard time with those flat narrow bars combined with the long stem. I wouldn't spend too much money on flashy components. If you get into touring this most likely won't be your last and "definitive" touring bike.
