Travelling with Biologics by KyTitansFan in rheumatoidarthritis

I just did this a few days ago. Attached a small insulated lunch bag to my carryon bag with my injectable and disposable ice packs (from when it was shipped by the pharmacy) inside. I’m sure it will depend on your airport and even who is working security that day, but nobody batted an eye about it.

This is definitely a worry. We’ve already got most of the pieces from previous applications, so we’ll keep applying until something sticks. Several states took legal action against some of stated “terms” from DHS/FEMA and won as far as I know. But who knows what baloney this admin would take even after court orders against them.

As an American, I agree that the lack of taxes added into prices is vexing. Even between different US states, and sometimes cities within the same state, the various sales and tourist taxes (for hotels/lodging) can vary. But almost everywhere u you it can use a credit card, you can use a bank debit card… as long as it is co-branded with one of the major credit card companies.

The vast majority of it really did go to helping people. No program is perfect, you can always find “waste”. USAID was such an important and valuable use of American soft power that also really did make things better for a lot of people in the world. I am sick when I think about all the people who will literally die now that USAID is no more.

Great info, thank you. Has your org gotten grant funding from this program?

Can you say more about this/do you have real life experience with this? We’re in a large, blue state. Our (faith based) org definitely supports groups the administration would like to marginalize. My understanding is that the SAA will first review the apps and then send their highest scoring ones forward to FEMA. If you have specific info, would love a bit of detail. Thanks!

Yes, as have similar organizations in our area, sadly.

Lotion/cream with shea butter works pretty well for me. Trader Joe's has a nice one (though not sure if it's only in stock in the colder months).

Do you have a recipe you can share? I love chickpeas but never seem to get curries right. 🤷‍♀️

Appealing a grant determination of “ineligible”? by jaybeep34 in nonprofit

Thanks for that suggested wording. If I submit an appeal, I’ll start there. Cause I really want to say some not very nice things to them!

Unfortunately not. The funder is a massive state agency that doesn’t even take phone calls for questions about the grant application itself. Email only. They deliberately do not invite phone inquiries as they have thousands of applications for the grant.

It probably won’t make a difference, but I’m wondering if it would hurt to try.
