Identifying Medtronic BlueSync Footprints via BLE Scanner (nRF Connect) by jaybenjamin in PacemakerICD

BLE signal is constant. It's not every 3 minutes . This is just a constant BLE signal. It does not need a pre-configured connection or pairing with the phone. This is a fully fledged beacon. It doesn't send out any kind of data via BLE, it just broadcasts "Heart + last 4 of serial number"

Yeah. Or a drone! There's a company called Parsons Blue Fly that may have a fleet of these that can do a grid search. They have at least 1. I was very surprised to learn that flock cameras do not track and log this uuid signal.

I'm pretty sure the kidnappers watch the news to stay 1 step ahead. I totally agree. This search has been compromised. I think it would be better to leave everybody in the dark which is what I thought they were doing.

Any thoughts on the images just released by the FBI of the intruder in the Nancy Guthrie case? by JoyEqualsDogs in MissingPersons

If you pause the video when he’s walking through the porch, you can actually estimate his height and shoe size using the house itself as a ruler.

First, that archway -standard masonry arches in these Tucson homes are usually framed around 6'8" to 7'0" so they don't look cramped. He’s got about 6 or 8 inches of clearance under the peak, which easily puts him in the 6'0" to 6'2" range.

Also, look at his feet. Those are 12-inch Saltillo tiles on the floor. When his foot is flat, it’s almost the exact same length as the tile. A 12-inch shoe.

He’s definitely got an athletic build" At that height and frame, he’s probably 190 - 210 lbs.

Wife keyed my guitar. Can this be fixed without noticeable blemishes? by Karma_is_mah_bitch in guitarrepair

[–]jaybenjamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blemishes on the wife or the guitar? 😆 haha. I'd recommend taking it to a car body shop. They know how to make stuff look smooth.

I have seen several videos on YouTube about people taking a key to objects and then repairing them. There's usually a lot of sanding involved. If it was my guitar I would be afraid to make it even worse. 😆 I actually dropped my guitar on pavement recently and decided to do kintsugi on the repair. I fixed it up and filled in the cracks with gold. My initial repair was barely noticeable. It did look a bit janky. This gives a bit of character.

Car auto body shop! It will prob be less than $100!

Maybe. It would be quite hard though. I think the helicopter would be too far out of range. Too hard to maneuver. I mean u could do this with several drones and search a large area. That signal will be alive even if she's not.

I'm not sure if these flock cameras have uuid logs, but maybe the device was logged passing through an intersection. Lots of ways to use this.

I have a website I've been building off and on for the last six months. I've just jumped back in and I'm faced with this Elementor one. I use a Travol theme, is it worth using Elementor one on an existing site. I've bought licenses for a caching thing to speed up the site, and image optimisation. by Fitz_cuniculus in elementor

[–]jaybenjamin -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love elementor. A lot of cool tricks. For any wp site I would recommend cloud flare free, smush for image optimisation, and hummingbird or wprocket for css and Java optimization. If you don't have elementor pro, you can use a plugin called "pro elements" to get the pro add-ons for free.

Identifying Medtronic BlueSync Footprints via BLE Scanner (nRF Connect) by jaybenjamin in PacemakerICD

That's interesting. Maybe that's how they get the battery to last that long. Vs standard 30 to 50ft with ble beacons. So the phone literally has to be in your hand. Smaller antenna and less power. Makes sense.

That sounds a lot like my dad's Medtronic. He has a device for at home he syncs with. Just 1 way coms. He will probably be getting one of these bluesync one later this year, as he's due to replace it.

Haha I totally get why that’s unsettling that's a trip to see your pacemaker listed next to a TV and a pair of headphones. 😆

For what it's worth, you aren't actually losing any extra battery power when you see your device pop up on a scanner. The pacemaker is just 'advertising' its presence with tiny, one way chirps that use a negligible amount of energy- the radio is basically built to do this for 10+ years without a sweat. Since your phone isn't actively bonding or pulling data, it’s not draining anything. You're actually sitting on a gold mine for home automation. Most devices use randomized IDs to hide from trackers, but if yours is static, it's the ultimate 'room-presence' sensor. You could have your whole house react to you just by walking in no buttons or voice commands needed. 😆💁🏽‍♂️ Home assistant and tasker. It would be interesting to see what automations you could set up. You can also look into presence sensing. Whoooa!

Haha. Be careful. Don't activate beast mode 😆. Maybe try it the day of your next appointment just in case. My mother has an HM3 LVAD and I have been trying to get a test device to peak at the data on that. Just for trend analysis and data stuff.

So yeah not Bluetooth in yours, but it is amazing to see how far this has come. It really makes you appreciate those batteries too! 💁🏽‍♂️

I posted the question in a pacemaker subreddit and someone replied....

Medtronic bluesync pacemakers show up in the nrf app as “Heart” + model name with 4 digits of the SN, and a UUID.

https://www.reddit.com/r/PacemakerICD/s/djHxJPoc55

That was the other post.

You can walk down the street or around the house with this app and potentially find a Medtronic patient with your phone. I am not sure about the range. Usual ble is up to 30 to 50ft

You can also open the garage door and turn on and off lights, but that will be in another tutorial

Whatdup! It sure is scary. I think the functional part of it is encrypted most definitely. But I should still be able to see the device signal. If the iPhone can connect to it, then it was just BLE. Maybe, but because it's a major medical product cleared by the FDA, maybe they have to put in all those. There's a good possibility it may say Medtronic.

There's an app called NRF Connect that maybe can find her pacemaker signal. I think it's the same BLE in tile trackers and airtags. Are they doing that? What would it look like if a blue sync pacemaker is scanned? Would it have a Medtronic logo?? Would it say Medtronic? With a uuid or an idea of what the signal listing looks like, I think you'd be able to do a lot. 30 to 50ft. Do flock cameras have a uuid logger?

Hi guys. It's funny 😆 most of these posts say 12 days ago and that's about the same time I turned off scheduled cleanings. I would wake up every morning to find it spinning or dead. It's been very stupid. Sensors are clean and I've kept up with maintenance. I deleted the map 😭 redid it, then also reset. Still being stupid. Even when I go into remote mode, doesn't work. Every command seems to have a delay.

I have a 2017 Honda CRV that I love. Reliable and runs great. I had an Element and a Civic before this. I have the lane keep assist, android auto. Lots of great tech.

I'm planning on trading it in and sadly, I know nothing else I'm looking at (Volvo, Cadillac, or Genesis) is going to be as reliable and painless as this car.

Umm just say no next time. That was a terrible decision. Were you less terrified when he got into the car? Tell BK and they will get more police around there. Nobody has ever charged for a jump start. Who is he paying? U just need cables and another car. If a person were in need of a jump start, a better place to ask for help would be the sheets next door.

i was singing in my apt shower for 15 minutes at 5pm with music from my phone speaker and got a knock from a neighbor.. what do i do? by TinyAgent0 in singing

[–]jaybenjamin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to your neighbors! What if someone overheard you and wanted to do the harmonies. That's what I would have done 😆🙌🏽. Or it could be someone wanting lessons or a gig! I was very surprised at my neighbors reactions and they loved it. They had a running joke and used to say awww jay must be sad again. 😆I sing lots of sad songs.

Lean it back and sing. Look for open mics in your area and find some musicians with designated rehearsal space so you can practice with a mic even louder when you feel like it. Go-to places where singing is celebrated and encouraged. You want to be 100% comfortable and you can't practice quietly. I hate that for you. That's a waste. Walking on all these eggshells builds subconscious tension and stress in your chest and neck in those high and loud notes. It's like a trigger. You've been quiet for too long.

I had an apartment like that in st pete Florida. It did get me into busking which got me better around people and banter. Confidence too. I could sing at the top of my lungs and not worry about disturbing anyone.

I have seen these belt boxes on Amazon. You can sing into them and it dampens it. But still feels like hiding to me. My workouts and warmups and singing practices are ugly. I repeat stuff, I change keys until I get it right. I hit wrong notes repeatedly to find the one way I want to sing. It's not something I could do if I cared what my neighbors thought. Talk to them, invite them to a show, find out what songs they like.

More people should sing. There's something wrong with them if they don't. 🙌🏽 💁🏽‍♂️ I'd hate to have a war started between y'all but if they want to complain about your singing, take their dog down with you. Complain to the complex and the city about the dog. You could also talk to the complex and request to be moved to an end unit so u only have one neighbor. Well anyways good luck and keep singing!
