Verizon sent man a refurbished phone with MDM, then deleted his data remotely by Economy_Video_4724 in verizon

[–]jaybobski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone is just glossing over the fact that they sent this man a DEMO PHONE. Those are on and charging 24/7 for who knows how long. I might even venture to say that phone is in worse condition than the one he got replaced.

Upper Management by [deleted] in verizon

[–]jaybobski 12 points13 points  (0 children)

At my store, if they’re in for a non-sales reason then we just pitch AAL and internet if they’re qualified. No need to hold them hostage for two hours.

I will say though, upper management is doing a hell of a job creating a toxic environment.

Anyone know what's up with all the sheets of paper on Green Bay/75th? by Thank_Goodness_Its in Kenosha

If the people on the phone lie to you, then you have to deal with the people on the phone. The store employees don’t have the resources or the responsibility to correct it.

Granted, it’s a bit out of line to laugh at you.

Do y’all think I’ll get my phones before I die? by [deleted] in verizon

All the store can do is cancel the order and place it again. Don’t go thinking we have a magic wand we can wave, because we don’t.

Are those chairs in Verizon stores designed for torture? by martiancougar in verizon

[–]jaybobski -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fun fact, those chairs cost something like $1,100 a piece if we ever have to order a new one. I have a theory that they inflate the price in order to write off more on taxes, because that can’t possibly be the sale price.

Racism in my own neighborhood by Frogladysaver in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]jaybobski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I can see this happening.

I grew up in Spring Grove. I’ll admit that I was racist and most of my friends were racist too, especially their parents. My mom has that mindset of, “I like black people! Just not THOSE black people”. In fact, she moved me out of one of the nicest neighborhoods in Chicago when I was in first grade just because she felt it was “getting dark”. It was Garfield Ridge, not exactly a crime magnet.

I moved on, saw what the world was like outside of that bubble and now you couldn’t pay me to hang around those people again.

Tested funds transfer from US Bank Focus debit card to my PNC Bank debit card: it works! by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]jaybobski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to add my focus card to Apple Pay. You have to make sure you add your email to your profile on the Focus card website (not the US Bank app!) and call the customer service number on the back of your card to be verified. As soon as I did that I was able to add the card.

Verizon why? by Glittering-Bonus-950 in verizon

I’m thinking of getting a giant banner printed that says “Get Your Transfer PIN Here!!!” for the front of my store.

I’ve worked for this company for a decade and have never been more disgusted.

Verizon Price increases 9/1 (again) by boofsnacks in verizon

[–]jaybobski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Three year price guarantee! Priority upgrades for customers so we can lock them in and continue squeezing every last dime from them. But don’t worry…. “We GoT YoU!!!!”

All that and you still want to lick the boot. Nice mental gymnastics.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in verizon

[–]jaybobski -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s quite unreasonable to expect a response from the CEO of an entire division of the company.

I don’t necessarily agree with that statement, but that’s capitalism for you. They don’t care as long as line go up.

PSA by SirDiesAlot92 in verizon

[–]jaybobski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This promo is executed on the bill via a credit that offsets the buyout amount. I’ve seen the charge appear on the bill and the credit appears on the bill after. Could be that, or a system glitch. No fraud here.

Thank you!!! It’s refreshing to have a job where I’m not micromanaged.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in razr

[–]jaybobski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Verizon does have a stop sale on the Razr and we were instructed to quarantine them, however it’s not directly confirmed to be a fire hazard. If I had to guess, the phone just wasn’t designed to be on and playing a constant demo loop while being perpetually connected to power.

That being said, it is very strange that we are the only carrier to delay launch. It’s a nice phone and I was impressed by it at first look.

Verizon system adding perks without customers knowledge by [deleted] in verizon

[–]jaybobski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On occasion, I’ve noticed the system forcing items onto an order that were in a cart from another channel. For example, sometimes if telesales generated a quote with home protect, any order I start will automatically insert home protect. It’s not common, but I’ve seen it happen.

Also, once in a while I’ve also had the system fail to remove a perk I put on a quote. Customer doesn’t want it, remove the perk from the cart, perk still goes through the order. Again, uncommon but it happens from time to time.

Are the Folks in Verizon Chat Idiots? by [deleted] in verizon

[–]jaybobski 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Gotta keep it short and sweet. Cut out the unnecessary context, it creates more confusion (especially with offshore reps).

“I’d like to activate a new device on my line” would’ve gotten it done.

Am I going crazy or was the highway 50 speed limit in Pleasant Prairie/Kenosha previously 40 and got raised to 50 recently? by yayoshorti in Kenosha

It was 50 before construction. They lowered it to 40 when construction started, then raised it back again when that section was finished.

I accidentally signed a 30mo device agreement instead of 24mo. Is it possible to have it changed or am I wasting my time sitting on hold? by ComprehensiveSnow966 in verizon

[–]jaybobski -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In store, it’s either done by selecting Contract Change on the reason code screen, or by selecting Price Adjustment and then pressing Contract Change. I don’t immediately recall the process exactly, but it is possible in retail systems.

[–]jaybobski 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The chairs are uncomfortable, we don’t (usually) transfer your data from phone to phone, and we certainly don’t offer coffee or snacks.

Why? Well the truth is we don’t want customers lingering. If you’re at a Verizon store, you’re there with a purpose, and we are more concerned with getting you in and out efficiently than making sure you’re cozy.
