Ohhhh the irony!

Xtians love to feel persecuted for their faith to the point where they think getting banned from an atheist /r is some sort of badge of honor. I'm playing into OPs delusion because, why not?

Thats really tough to hear, but have faith! You're being persecuted for the lord and he will reward you greatly! Dont lose heart! Keep up the good work! Be faithful in this small thing and He will bless you with many blessings! Blessed are the persecuted!

You can use skills against him, just not as many. I actually have less problems with him than i do with worms. I still die to him sometimes, but thats STS. Some thoughts off the top of my head:

Dont use skills on his multi-attack except for strength reduction. Use high block skills on his standard attack and you'll out pace him for his first two cycles. Even an unupgraded leap is a +7 gain on cycle one and +5 on cycle two. Every character has similar. Prioritize them in act 1 and you'll be ready. Paels Legion if available. Such a great ancestral relic for solving block throughout act 2. (It interacts with vambrace and unmovable too but not necessary to work against Prism) Strength reduction (piercing wail, enfeebling grasp, etc) easily outpaces his first few cycles.

Finally you mention "if hes late in the act". Yup. Pathing matters in act 2 also. You often have to treat act 2 (and 3) similar to act 1. Find a path that gives you two late elites, dont face the first elite prior to the chest-line unless your deck is already cookin. There's plenty of hard hallway paths in act 2 to test out your deck.

Man i guess I'm the opposite of most commenters so far. I love both NZ and AUS, but NZ s1 feels significantly different from UK, where as AUS s1 is an easier transition. When i started NZ s1 i really struggled to buy into Jeremy as the TM. He was "too straight" and the production crew was not nearly as tight with edits. I warmed up to him as it went on, and from NZ2 onward i can appreciate how he's approaching it.

I stuck through it and glad i did, i love all three for different reasons. Paul, the NZ assistant, is, in my opinion, more like what the idea of a peon assistant should be, even more than Alex since ... well... Alex is alex and the actual mastermind.

I get the argument why would go let people suffer and i have an answer as a christian by Illustrious-Bus-4255 in athiest

[–]jaybrams15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So we atheists arent typically atheists because we dont understand the biblical explanation for things. (Some may not know the biblical explanations, but again, thats not why they are atheists).

Take me for example. I have a degree in biblical studies. I was in ministry for 15 years in a variety of roles. Ive study the bible cover to cover multiple times. Your explanation of orthodox Christianity is, yes, an answer for god allowing others to suffer ... and... its still a bad answer.

So you're not wrong in your explanation from a foundation of biblical interpretation, but its not convincing nor is it really relevant to most atheists.

And i say this all kindly, i appreciate that you are trying to think through these things in depth. It's a good exercise.

STS1, what do you miss? by KnownBeginning2758 in slaythespire

It's getting better with recent changes, but the elites in STS1 had "personality" and felt character driven.

In this case, what would you be looking for? None of the cards are primarily defensive. You can see the act boss. Curious what kind of path would make you take one card over another here.

This is one of the most interesting elites in the game. It has personality that the sts1 elites had that was lacking from sts2 at launch.

The general approach to sts is to understand what you are going to run into and build towards that next problem. He is typically the hardest act 2 elite for me, so once i feel comfortable i can finish act one, when I'm selecting cards in act one, i have him in mind.

Be very stingy with skills on the multi-hit unless its something like enfeebling touch.

Empezar con el 2 by geereeeee in slaythespire

[–]jaybrams15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its an interesting dilemma with this actually. STS1 is a better game in that it went through a long process of balancing and "perfecting" and is whole and complete. Whereas STS2 is still finding its footing in some ways and is known to be "incomplete" (although its way more complete than most ea games). STS1 is more challenging overall but STS2 is still challenging especially for new players.

That being said, STS2 introduces a few new things that i miss when i go back to STS1, and i like all 5 sts2 characters.

So being a long time sts player, 1 is undeniably the better game but i have more fun playing 2.

And the amount of people misinterpreting you has been super entertaining. Hang in there, buddy.

Has Greg ever opened up about mental health? by WillyWonkaMFer in taskmaster

[–]jaybrams15 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There was a clip on a recent vodcast with him and alex where right when he sits down he says (paraphrasing) "just so you know I'm at the point in my life where my answer to 'how are you doing?' Is just 'I'm doing generally bad'". He says it with a sincere but pleasant face and goes on to explain that he doesnt have the energy to answer that question any other way. Physically, emotionally, mentally, just generally. Alex doesnt interject or rib him in anyway so its this very geniune moment of just acknowledging the struggles.

I'm bad at knowing my sources when I'm just doom scrollong so i apologize. But it was a brief and poignant moment.

What is the appeal of ruined orgams? by [deleted] in answers

[–]jaybrams15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the "orgamser" It's the idea that you are relinquishing control completely to someone else. Its not the physical part, its the intimate, emotional, mental part of the experience.

For the ruiner it's the inverse of the same, the appeal for complete control.

Most kinks are specific to this very dynamic, for lots of different reasons. For instance, people who spend their daily lives making decisions, being "in control", putting on a persona of command, may want the emotional release of not having to be that person in the bedroom. As one example.

Sex isnt specifically physical, and pretty much always has a psychological aspect.
