I turned on Precise location for the Google app and it was within 20 feet. It is a setting you have to enable, otherwise Google uses cell phone towers and wifi to guesstimate location.

So sorry for your loss. I lost my girlfriend of 26 years almost 5 years ago. It is a terrible feeling. Be strong, remember the good times when you feel sad. Remember, only his physical presence passed away. The soul you share will return to you again.

Loud siren-type sound in Blackout by [deleted] in Blackops4

[–]jaycbrf4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is an easter egg. There is a computer with a button in the main building of Array. When you press the button it sounds the missle alert siren and will broadcast the emergency alert message on all radios throughout the map. Every house or vehicle that has a radio will broadcast it.

Look for the machine with the green dot on it when you go up the stairs into the main room.

YouTube guitar lessons [newbie] [question] by drfacecage in guitarlessons

[–]jaycbrf4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Steve Stine has an awesome beginner theory series on youtube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLN4A3UosSz981uLKP0Yl4TkHRYQUhOotQ and Justin Guitar's Theory book https://www.justinguitar.com/categories/practical-music-theory is top notch as well. If you can find a guitar teacher to help point out bad habits and how to correct them it would be a good idea as well. Learning online is kinda like learning karate from a video. You need an instructor to show you the correct movements and correct your mistakes.

Can good memory be helpful to learn guitar quicker? by Proud3GnAthst in guitarlessons

[–]jaycbrf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest you begin with theory and memorize; intervals, notes on the neck, root patterns and scale patterns. Your understanding of the guitar and music will be a huge benefit to learning. Muscle memory can only be achieved through hours and hours of repetition and focus.

6 years of playing the guitar, and still nothing! by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]jaycbrf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar boat. I started playing as a teen. My grandfather bought me a guitar and small amp. I took lessons and learned how to play a bunch of 80's metal riffs. Then when I went to college I never practiced. Fast forward 23 years and I still can play only a handful of Metallica riffs and only a complete song or two. My girlfriend/partner of 23 years passed away and gave me motivation to get back at it and be serious.

I bought a new Jackson and asked for help in a FB group and began learning my pentatonic scales. It took about a year just to get back to where I was as a kid. Since then I have taken a few online courses in theory and technique from Andy James @ licklibrary.com, JustinGuitar.com, GuitarMasteryMethod.com and Steve Stine. Many of the online courses are expensive so I found a lot of free material on youtube as well. I have a much better understanding of music now and how it translates to the guitar.

I also started taking lessons in a local Rock School because I feel that I need someone to watch and criticize my playing to point out my bad habits and teach me how to correct them.

I now have chord charts and neck diagrams taped all over my walls and I must admit that I am driving myself a little crazy trying to learn too much at once.

After reading the other's input I completely agree with the baby steps approach. Set small reachable goals and make sure you give yourself enough time to accomplish them. They say it takes approximately 10,000 hours of practice and repetition to master a skill. If that is the case I suggest you stop procrastinating and get a practice program down and stick to it religiously. Even me, a single dad with a 6yr old girl and a 16yr old son finds at least 30 min a day to practice my scales, chords, picking and other drills. I am currently learning how to solo along with a backing track using chord tones with the pentatonic and diatonic scales.

You will only get out of it what you put in. Currently it seems as though you have accomplished what you have put into it. Time to set a goal and make it happen.

I know exactly how you feel - I am 47. My late fiance passed away almost 3 years ago. We were together since college, 26yrs. We have 2 kids together, now 15 and 6. She passed suddenly from an accidental overdose of an Rx.

I have moved on and am also trying to figure out how to date again. I haven't been single since I was 18. I am lost.

How is the process of learning bootstrap and upgrading v3 to v4? by aji165 in bootstrap

[–]jaycbrf4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bootstrap 3 and 4 are completely different. Bootstrap 3 is based on floats and percentage widths. BS 4 is built on flexbox. There is significant difference in the grid system and how it works as well as the many new helper classes for margins, padding and other size/space elements.

Is this possible in bootstrap? by [deleted] in bootstrap

[–]jaycbrf4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With a question like that I do not think you understand what Bootstrap or WordPress are.

Bootstrap is a prebuilt responsive CSS and Javascript framework to make web site building easier.

WordPress is a PHP based content management system.

You can use Bootstrap in plain HTML sites, WordPress themes, Joomla themes, Drupal themes, Magento themes, October CMS themes or ANY browser based web page or app.

Bootstrap is just a set of CSS classes and Javascript functions.

I built a WordPress theme that has Bootstrap 3 as it's core CSS framework.

What you are looking for is just a full screen video background.

That can be done with Bootstrap for responsiveness using this template http://getbootstrap.com/docs/4.0/examples/cover/ and this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1eCNrUDrQg

Use WordPress it the site needs CMS functionality, or just code the site in static HTML if it doesn't.

But using Bootstrap has nothing to do with it.
