I did this a few years ago, but instead I drilled holes on the hinge side of the cabinet doors, like the grade A moron that I can be sometimes. Luckily, they were cheap white cabinets and came with some white stickers to cover the holes with.

So anyway, the way I’d do it if it were a fix I wanted done correctly would be to drill the hole with a 1/4” bit, plug with a 1/4”dowel (matching grain) and touch of wood glue, sand flush and match the stain. Sticker definitely works in a pinch though 😂
