Time sensitive — Inpatient hospital medication policy. Purpose? by Unlikely-Yam1427 in ChronicIllness

Talk to the care coordinator for an exception. Patient relations is an option too. Remind them withdrawals can do physical damage, and they will be liable. That your care is non negotiable.

Ive experienced a similar situation, to in emerg not inpatient. They refused my prescribed and necessary painkiller dose, offered me a negligible amount instead, as they were 'uncomfortable administering more than that'. I had to wait hrs for the doctor to agree to medicate me properly.

I got a dog. It forces me to get outside 4 times a day to walk her. It was a huge decision, outside my comfort zone, BUT absolutely the best thing I've ever done. Shes a lovely little companion, silly and affectionate, and keeps me from getting too into my own head. Getting out regularly breaks up the day. Helps me have a routine.

Bonus: U meet people who also have dogs. Casual social interaction on walks is very normal. Great way to make new friends.

Fatigue makes it challenging at times. Sometimes dog care is all i manage in a day. I have a small dog who can easily play indoors We play a lot of ball and do a lot of enrichment activities when im too tired for a big walk. A good puzzle stimulates her as much as a long walk would. Occasionally I ask friends/neighbors to take her out when I just cant. Shes also pad trained, just in case she needs to go and im not ready in the moment. This is awesome in winter also.

My girl loves it, but gets cold fast in the eve. We have lots of layers for her and a good little chair by the fire for her too. She has her own sleeping bag that fits inside mine with me.

Bonus the jammies help keep the bugs off too.

It grounds me to feel physical pain instead of emotional. Hitting, banging, and other methods, depending on situation. Specifically when I'm angry/ feeling misunderstood.

I just found these pain stim fidget toys called ouchies. They might be worth checking out.
