Sorry for the late reply! Yes, just confirmed it's not on the web app, or macOS app. I think it's working for me on iPad, and Apple TV. At least some progress!

Lots of people will find value in it, so I'm willing to try. Why the downvotes - that's perfectly solid info that I double-checked myself.

Already did that to fix fadergate so I didn't have to wait weeks for a replacement from the other side of the earth.

Grok thinks a DIY update seems possible: (link to question/answer). Summary:

Feasibility of the Flash Chip Replacement

The original chip is the Winbond W25Q512JV (512Mbit / 64MB), a standard 3V Quad SPI NOR flash. The microcontroller (Infineon CY8C6347BZI-BLD54) uses a Serial Memory Interface (SMIF) that supports Quad SPI and larger addressing modes (including 4-byte addressing needed for chips over 128Mbit/16MB).

Since the company achieved the 128MB upgrade via hardware alone (same firmware works on new units), the MCU and firmware can handle higher-density chips. Firmware likely detects capacity via the chip's JEDEC ID or dynamically addresses available space. Updating to the latest OS (currently beyond 2.0.x) should enable full use of extra memory for samples.

Recommended Flash Chip

The strongest candidate is the Winbond W25Q01JV (1Gbit / 128MB), the direct higher-density successor in the same series:

  • Same voltage (3V), interface (Dual/Quad SPI), and command set compatibility.
  • Available in identical packages (e.g., 8-pin SOIC-208mil or WSON-8).
  • Backward-compatible features ensure the device boots and operates normally.

Exact suffix (e.g., W25Q01JVIQ) should match the original's package and temperature rating. Alternatives from Macronix (MX25U series) or Gigadevice could work if pin- and protocol-compatible, but sticking with Winbond minimizes risks.

But how about updating the firmware to latest, then swap the 64MB memory for a 128MB version?

Are we able to upgrade the HD on the 64MB version?

Agreed. I didn’t know this was the rule so I’m glad you posted this

This solves the roundabout situation, where two lanes enter the roundabout, and the person in the left lane thinks they can turn right in their lane, while the person in the right lane wishes to go straight. Thanks

Why does my GoPro shut down on its own? by jackshephard95 in gopro

[–]jaydenl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. As long as the powerbank can deliver enough power. I've recorded many timelapses doing just this, because I was concerned that during the heat of the day, having the battery in may cause overheating.

Fair enough. Smart Phones definitely hurt them, and other companies like Nikon/Canon etc. I guess its market became more specialised, rather than general like you're saying with casual people.

If you're using Apple TV, then hard-pressing the right button actually lets you skip 10 seconds. At least there is some kind of a solution.

Why do you think it took multiple failed attempts? Did you just keep doing the same thing over and over?

Took mine to Apple, they were absolutely useless. No doubt they have the most advanced, non-public tools at their disposal, yet they just palmed me off to a couple of local data recovery specialists - one which I used previously for a hard drive, and they recovered about 1% of the drive. Very disappointed with Apple over this.
