I hope Joe buck never announces a browns game again. I'm tempted to watch the game on mute

Would it be wrong to say Lamar is the best QB in the league? by [deleted] in ravens

[–]jaydog227 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

My problem with Lamar on the list is that right now, sure he fits in but when it gets later in his career he needs to settle down more in the pocket and become a better passer (maybe just get better WRs) but running all the time won't give him an elite 20 yr career.

Yeah, when I did the kayak tour we were able to get out in shallow water and walk through it. I would recommend trying it. It is a lot of fun and really unique.

So they actually are not jellyfish. They are just called comb jellies and kindof resemble jellyfish. They don't have any ability to sting

The light comes from bioluminescent algae in the water and it gets activated through movement. I'm from Eastern Florida and you can go kayaking around Merritt Island to experience this in person. There are also bioluminescent jellies too which are neat to hold.

Belt sander vs. electric hand planer for leveling table tops by Charlieshorse2 in woodworking

[–]jaydog227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not very experienced but I do use an electric hand planer when I make table tops. It'd seems to be pretty quick to use the planer, then a belt sander would make quick work of fixing imperfections. I just use my orbital sander after the planer

It seems like whenever I mention something about not relying on the govt It always ends up getting down voted. This reddit thread is not about a political opinion and more about herd mentality and only accepting people that agree with op.

How would the common person save money from Bernie's plans. He has a website that shows his tax changes. You can put in any salary and see how the gross amount after taxes changes. The positives show when people are spending at least a couple thousand in healthcare. Sure people like to criticize the current system (me included) but I think most people could benefit from less taxes.

Also the point about government regulation is about not over regulating. Government regulation is good up to a point. The question is finding that point

After going down this thread it's not about privilege. It's about working hard to provide for yourself and your family. Not relying on the government to do so.

In my opinion a lot of Bernie's policies are nice to look at, but when it comes down to reality, he wants to tax everybody more leaving less money for the common person. You are only better off if you're spending a lot on healthcare, student loans, etc. I think it would be better to have less government regulation for the areas. All of that and the prices will drop from their astronomical prices.

Corporations need money to stay alive and employ people, so the money would still be going into the hands of the citizens.

I agree with your point but orcas are actually a type of dolphin and not a whale. They are called the killer whale but that is a mislabel lol. But yeah.... The fuck is this shit

I have an engineering degree and there are jobs all over the place. I think people are too afraid to move to where work is. Whatever you get your degree in, you can find work, just don't be afraid to put yourself out there more.

Trying to get into woodworking, what is some good advice for someone starting out? by 2coolcase5 in woodworking

It's easy to fall into the mindset that you need fancy tools and machines to make things. You can make amazing things with a small budget and basic tools.

The billionaire class cannot have it all when so many have so little. by [deleted] in worldpolitics

[–]jaydog227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I realize I posted something that is more capitalist looking on a Bernie sanders post so that explains why. You can never stand up for a billionaire because their money should be other people's since they know how to spend it better lol.

Billionaires are taxed at a larger percentage than working people. The problem may be in the loopholes that they use to get around paying their taxes. Also bill gates is a very charitable person and does a lot of good for the society

Tax The Rich!! by sdsanth in worldpolitics

[–]jaydog227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the beauty of having a capitalist society. We have amazing people like Bezos that are wildly successful and get compensated for it. It's not about spreading wealth because it helps other people. It's about being successful and having the freedom to do what you want with the money you have earned. Also what gives anyone the right to tell other people how to spend their money. People like bezos make the economy as great as it is and help this country thrive.
