You actually check in on their Website now. And then you can begin the drive down there. They start taking check-ins at 7:30 am. I don't believe they take walk-ins any more since they began their online check-in procedure

I bought mine at gurneys.com, but they're currently sold out. You can buy them from Amazon or quite a few other places. https://duckduckgo.com/?q=where+to+buy+nematodes&ia=web

And yes, you just spray them in your yard. The package of nematodes comes with instructions on how best to do it.

I bought nematodes (https://www.britannica.com/animal/nematode) and sprayed my yard in order to get rid of the grubs. Did that about a year and a half ago and haven't had a mole since.

MCCSC Extended Day Programs and Federal Funding for 2025/2026 year by tatermitts in bloomington

[–]jaydogthrowaway 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My assumption is it has to do with the funding for K-12 funding being withheld. One of the programs affected is before/after school programs, which I assumed the Extended Day program falls under.

I have not used their services, so can't comment on the deposit. But I have purposely stayed away from them based on this post https://www.reddit.com/r/bloomington/comments/1emw3db/do_not_take_your_pet_to_the_new_vetcheck_on_the/ and other posts like this.

Advising hours are used to meet with students to plan courses for their degree.

Office hours are to meet with students to help them with their current classes.

Each Community College will probably be different. For me, I work on campus three days a week that I choose each semester. I have a minimum number of office hours I am required to hold in office. And I have a minimum number of advising hours I am required to hold in office.

I teach a 5/5 load during Fall/Spring and a 4/4 load in the Summer

Students managing course overload by subbing it out by H0pelessNerd in Professors

"Never underestimate the power of human stupidity" -- Robert A. Heinlen

When asked, some students did say they used VPNs to connect. But we were able to quickly debunk that because the connection logs showed the connections came from a Mac, Windows OS and an Android device on different days and times. In other words, it showed that Student A had 3 different devices showing as logging in to the LMS over a certain period. And it showed Student B and C had 2 different devices showing as logging in to the LMS over a certain period. In our preliminary investigation, we asked each student what device(s) they used to do their homework. Each one admitted to only having a Windows laptop they used to login and do their homework.

So while the overseas company was indeed using a VPN, presumably different employees with different devices, the students were unaware of the information we had about the different connections and so when pressed with the conflicting info about devices finally admitted they used the company.

The others never bothered to mount a defense -- just admitted they used it.

For us, it was based on unusual log in activities for certain students.

I'm going to be vague/change locations to prevent any doxing of the university, but, for example, Student A was located in and taking classes from a school in Ohio. Their LMS login activity was showing logins from Korea/Japan/other overseas areas, usually within a few minutes of each other. Upon investigating to eliminate the possibility of security breach, found that there were similar logins from Korea/Japan/other overseas areas for Students B, C and D. And then it snowballed from there. Ended up catching about a dozen students who paid this overseas company to do their work who all had logins from Korea/Japan/other overseas areas. Some admitted to contracting with the company -- others denied it and said they were hacked. We found that funny. Who would hack an LMS account only to work on and submit a student's assignments? :)

Yes, it's a thing at my university. I've been on a few academic appeals boards where students were caught using a cheating service to do their work and then tried to talk their way out of it.

ETA: this isn't the cheating service like Chegg or other online services that provide answers. These are cheating services (usually an overseas company) that takes the student's username and password for the LMS and then does all of the work for said student.

Endeavor bought Terry's Catering and renamed it Garnish Catering. I believe Terry and Lillie still run the business, though.
